He was fighting a lightweight!!!!!!c'mon homie.....
no spin, but look at it like this....
based on the CONTRACTUAL agreement, the option was always there for floyd to not make weight, and instead pay a per lb./ penalty.
let me ask you a question.
if you have an agreed upon weight for a fight, but the extra weight loss will affect you adversely, and YOU have an option (after 2 years off) to fight at the weight you've been accustomed to fighting at, what would you do?
you can't honestly say you'd drain yourself, if it'll hurt you....especially if there's a clause that gives you a way out.Comment

I would drink a coke at the weigh in knowing I just ****ed over my already severely outmatched opponent and force my fans scramble to come up with a online PR damage control campaign.c'mon homie.....

You kids need to grow the **** up and stop pretending like Floyd isn't a scheming motha****er. He knew what he was doing.
On that same note, Marquez DID go on with the fight, took the L, so whatever. But the fact still remains, Floyd isn't the knight in shinning armor you're trying to portray him as.Comment

what does the fact he's fighting a LW have to do with the fact that trying to make 144, probably was too much for him, after 2 years off?
it doesn't matter if he was fighting a LW, or a WW who wanted him to make 144.
fact is, dude was on the shelf for 2 years, came back, tried to make the 144, couldn't do so w/o draining himself, and THE CONTRACT ALLOWED HIM to come in at 147 or below....Comment

Floyd is to smart to drain himself. So he took the penalty.I would drink a coke at the weigh in knowing I just ****ed over my already severely outmatched opponent and force my fans scramble to come up with a online PR damage control campaign.
