Are we going to pretend that Winky wasnt avoided? Im not usually with that so and so is ducking so and so, but Winky was really good and not worth much money. There is a reason nobody wanted to fight him.

Tito was not shot, his reflexes had not diminished, he was still able to work at a pace.

Tito was still an elite fighter at the point, when your age is restricting you then you start to come down in levels like how Hopkins age has deteriorated his reflexes, stamina over time.

The fact that Hopkins was an elite fighter and is still capable even at his age of whooping on B class fighters like Pavlik tells you all you need to know about the huge! gulf between elite fighters and B class fighters.
I don't know if Wink gives Tito a loss in his prime. ****, look how he struggled against Vargas (Winky, I mean).

        Hopkins is no longer elite.

Hopkins lost to Taylor because Taylor has elite Boxing skills but what stops Taylor being an elite fighter is his lack of stamina, that means that if your a 40 year old who cant set a pace and you let Taylor work at his own pace his elite skills means he has a shot at beating you, now you put Jermain in with someone like Pavlik/Froch who are far inferior skillwise but can exploit his stamina then you get the picture on why Hopkins lost to Taylor and why lumbering fighters like Froch/Pavlik were able to beat him.

We all!! know Hopkins would of beaten Taylor if he was still an elite fighter but his age restricted him, thus meaning he is not on the same level as a fighter as he was, that is why Calzaghe/Taylor managed to take advantage.

Calzaghe did not beat Hopkins imo, nobody deserved to win that fight,no one.

At what point did Hopkins stop being elite?

Mayorga had JUST his lineal welterweight championship to Cory Spinks via Majority decision. He was a top fighter at that point.

That was a real close fight that Winky probably should have gotten the nod. And Vargas was another top fighter, albiet a bit early in his career.
