I don't care what Mayweather says, for real. Nor do I go around trolling and talking negatively about Manny. The boxing public says that Floyd never takes risks, but he is fighting the guy that has been destroying his opponents. Its a risk, you can believe that.Comment

there are some idiots in this thread
floyd is forced to fight pac b/c of the circumstance / demand / money. otherwise he would have picked someone else if the demand and pressure wasnt that greatComment

Either win is good for boxing, but of course i voted for Manny because i'm a bigger fan of his and i simply can't stand Floyd. The question for me is what would be the outcome for each fighter after this fight. If Manny wins but then decides to retire after, the win would be good for boxing, but the retirement would be devastating. NOw for Floyd, if he wins, even if he decides to retire after, i don't think it would affect boxing that much because most of his fights are boring anyway and it was already proven that when he retired the first time, boxing got alot more exciting with other fights. His fight with Baldomir was the first time i saw a fight where the other boxer completely dominated his opponent and yet the crowd was booing and was walking out of the arena way before the fight ended. That's saying alot about Mayweather. Sure people love to see Floyd's PPV fights only because they want to see him loose, not because they want to see him fight. Most people love to see Manny fight. That's the big and defining difference between Floyd and Manny.Comment

In this case and only in this case, you are correct. But do realize that this fight has the possibility for both Floyd and Manny to make tremendous and probably the most amount of money in both of their careers. When people criticize Floyd for not taking any risk, they're talking about the fight that he could've had with Margarito, Cotto, or Mosley. IMO, The reward on those fights didn't out weight the risk for Floyd. In the case with Manny, the reward out weights the risk 10 times full.Comment

People like to forget Cotto, Mosley and Margarito was who everyone wanted to see Mayweather in with. I personally thought Mayweather Cotto would have been a sick fight stylistically. Instead he let them bash eachother up. A smart move for himself but nothing special for the fans.In this case and only in this case, you are correct. Pacquiao fought higher calibre opponents then.Corley and Bruseles were not during his reign as P4P reign..he became P4P when Hop lost to Taylor the first time.
So Hatton-undefeated Champ at 140, that wanted to take Floyd's belt at 147
DLH- 154 Lb Champ
Baldo- 147 lb Lineal Champ although he had a bunch of losses
Judah- former 147 champ, lost his title to Baldo, but a largely demanded fight between the two
Gatti- 140 lb Wbc champ
Mitchell- southpaw at first fight at welter
Manny
Hatton- 140 LB Champ
DLH- 154 Lb Champ that hadn't fought at 47 in YEARS
Cotto- 147 lb WBO Champ that Manny fought at 145
Diaz- 135 Wbc Champ, although some say he was the not the best belt helder at 135
JMM- highly controversial fight
NOW, they are fighting each other.
there is NOTHING to complain about as a fan of boxing REGARDLESS of who your favorite fighter is.
I'm not complaining. I can't wait for the fight.Comment
