He looked a lot better, a lot more savy against Jared Anderson. Learned from the hunter loss, cut the ring down, developed his jab, etc. Nobody except the top of the division is fighting anyone with any real clout because the division is weak. And Bakole was not in shape to fight anyone when he fought Parker.
A guy's best win in A WAY to judge, not the only way.
Ohh really Is Bakole a top contender? No... Who has any prospect coming up, fought at the top? What you and Faircommander are saying is: if a guy losses a fight he is exposed... I do not agree. If you watch Bakole what he does in the ring, from Hunter to Anderson he developed significantly more skills. As opposed to Wardley, who was IMO incredible, moved well, used distance well, and now is just another whale with a punch... BUT hey he won his last fight right?
Bakole was in no shape to fight anyone when he fought Parker... He probaby would have lost to many not at Parker's skill level. And I guarantee you that if Moses Ituama, or Torres, GOD FORBID! lose a fight, the same peanut gallery will declare them purely a hype job. Guess what? bakole can stand to learn a bit more in the ring, like the importance of coming in prepared... and many of the talented young lions also have to learn a bit... Losing a fight does not make them rubble...
Nobody said losing a fight makes someone bad.
But when someone has a combination of MULTIPLE knockout losses and ZERO quality wins... what the hell else are we supposed to think?
He was already fat and pathetic in the Anderson fight, and Anderson sucks. It's nobody's fault but his own that he put on 30 pounds before the Parker fight.
I love casual logic here (not referring to RJJ's post)... Fighters that are basic and workmanlike are lauded as grand champions, while if a talented fighter loses a fight, they are a hype job. No in between lol. Bakole when he last fought in shape showed a much better jab, much improved defensive movement, cut the ring off much more effectively, but comes into the Parker fight unprepared to face even the cub scout champ, much less Parker, and now he is a hype job lol.
I would agree that he has to improve his decision making capacity... That was a ****** thing to do! And it reflects a distorted belief in oneself and what they can handicap oneself with, that much is true...

Bakole looked "better" in his last fight because he fought a bum. He was still fat and slow against a bad opponent. And, once again, he has no quality wins.
You can forgive a loss, even multiple knockout losses, if a guy has some good wins under his belt. But Bakole doesn't. He beats nobodies and he has lost by stoppage to the two best guys he's been in the ring with. And Hunter's career has been pretty unimpressive since he stopped Bakole too.

He did not fight a bum... He fought a young guy coming up who quickly had his power, and his jab taken away from him. Anderson did not know how to adjust when those weapons were nullified. A fighter at Anderson's level of experience has an excuse, he is alas still learning. His footwork, his defensive skills need to improve and either they will, or they will not. He also was not slow, he threw many shots, as compared to Zhang (for example) and timed them very well.
You say quality wins but in this present division the level of quality is actually quite poor. That also has to consider that heavyweights usually fight the least fellow great fighters actively because there is always a smaller percent of such opponents, particularly fellow ATG level fighters.
Hunter is a crafty fighter. He fought well until Usyk eventually had to overpower him. He is skilled, not great, but a decent skilled opponent for the division as it stands. The Parker fight was an abhoration. Bakole was not ready to fight and looked ungainly in the ring.
Look if he does not show much in his next outing, or so, I will agree with you, but not on the basis of the Parker fight! Especially considering the improvements I saw. His judgement sucks... a fighter has to know how to prepare and if he goes into his next fight unprepared I will gladly eat crow and declare him a hyped fighter because we saw how that results with Andy Ruiz!

Anderson was already talking about an early retirement. He doesn't even like boxing and he is, in the truest sense of the word, an absolute hypejob. Anybody with a pulse easily does away with Jared Anderson. Even the faded ghost of Charles Martin almost had him, and Martin wasn't even good in his prime.

That's often the way casual fans view fighters; as though these top fighters just came in off the street.
if it was that easy, even to get to, say; Jared Anderson's level; there wouldn't be an MMA fighter on the planet; because the money potential in Boxing is a whole 'nether level.
It's akin to some mook at the track screaming at one of the 50 fastest 3-year-old throughbreads in the world, "Come on you Nag!".

You are not able to read minds... Jared had talent and was able to get recognition, he was not the stand out predicted but he had a great jab and decent skills for the present state of the division.
Charles was lauded at one point! Proof of the division strength. Stop using gossip to look evaluate and watch the actual fights. I don't care what Jared thinks about boxing, and heobviously was good enough to get where he got... though again, weak division permitting... Watch the actual fights and use them they6 are a lot more reliable. Bakole systematically took away his jab and walked him down, those are facts.
