Who is more likely to be able to beat a prime Jon Jones in a street fight Ali or Mike Tyson ?

Like I said, a lot of people underestimate how big and strong he actually is because he doesnt look all that imposing ie he isnt a mountain of muscle like Ngannou or Brock. But hes 6'4 with freakish Tyson Fury reach, theres video of him deadlifting like 600lbs or something as well. Bear in mind both his brothers were defensive linemen in the NFL and are huge dudes too, so it speaks to his genetics.
Maybe I am underestimating Jon Jones. I don't follow MMA closely. My impression of Jones is based on his reign as UFC LHW champ, his PED controversies and his ducking of Ngannou and Aspinall after moving up to HW. If he is bigger than Shamrock and a better wrestler then I would call Jones vs Tyson with no rules a 50/50 fight. Either one would have the ability to beat the other if luck went their way.

You realise there have been MMA guys who had long boxing careers right?
Lucas Browne for one. Dillian Whyte was more of a kickboxer but he did briefly dabble in MMA before moving to boxing. Clay Collard not all that long ago was being dubbed the prospect killer.
Boxing is not ****ing rocket science, its punching people in the face. And yes, that applies the other way too, plenty of boxers could make the transition to MMA if they took the time to adapt.Comment

Yeah, no shit you are and no shit you don't follow MMA closely
"Jon is quite a bit bigger than Ken, and a much better wrestler. I think people tend to underestimate how physically strong and imposing he is because he doesnt LOOK it on the surface."

You didn't know that Jon Jones was significantly larger at 6 ft 4 with an 84 1/2 inch reach walking around at 240+ lbs compared to Ken Shamrock at 6 ft 1 with a 73 inch reach that walks around at what, 220 or so max? Are you blind?
Jones is much better in EVERY CATERGORY to Ken Shamrock and that's not hyperbole, there is not one single area where Jones isn't significantly superior to Ken Shamrock. Where did you even land on Ken Shamrock of all people to be the one guy you think could beat Tyson?
Also, don't know why you're throwing the PED use in there when Shamrock was also caught using PEDs.
Of course it matters.
But it doesn't make a difference to the fact he'd tap you out in 30 seconds if his black belt is in any way legitimate. The fact you think you could grapple with any kind of Jiu Jitsu black belt and not be totally dominated like a little boy is hilarious

LB with the 6-2; 6 KO's MMA career

Boxing is not rocket science if the only tool a guy has is a left hook.Comment

Ken was at his biggest when he came back to his MMA after his WWF run. Dude was utterly juiced to the ****ing gills at that point, but also pushing 40 and the game had evolved while he was away so it didnt make much difference.
But yeah, Jon has a naturally larger frame and Kens skills pretty much everywhere were absolutely rudimentary in comparison, he'd lose to practically everyone Jon beat. The evolution of MMA skills in first decade or so was so rapid that a lot of those early guys got left behind really quickly.Comment

Yeah thats why Lucas Browne got KTFO by ****ing Jim York, a C level journeyman who never made it to the UFC and lost to 5'9 40 something decade past prime Jeff Monson in his next fight. And why Claressa Shields gets "fed" chicks with losing records and/or barely any more MMA experience than her only to end up going life and death with them lol.
Theres an entire industry of cans designed to pad up and comers records in boxing. Many wont even try to win because they know what their role is. Thats not a thing in other combat sports.Comment
