Why the hell would the WBC go out of their way to give Benavidez a 3rd chance against another fellow Mexican, a real Mexican from Mexico, in Canelo, a proven earner and a patriot who has done so much for his country?

Canelo became undisputed beating all three of the undefeated 168lb prime champions in Smith, Saunders, and Plant. Having money and those past achievements is exactly what carries over into his current status. That's why he's able to do whatever he wants. He's earned it.

What current best at 168? Canelo cleared it out. There's no one left but the cry baby who didn't even clear 50k buys his last time out.

You want Canelo to prove he's the best when he already has.

Benavidez. offers. nothing. to the face of boxing.

    You guys are ****ing pathetic.

        c) fights that are fairly easy nights at the office

Benavidez is none of these, but if he fights and beats Bivol like he says he can, then he has something to offer.

That's all there is to it.
Fighting Benavidez wont make “alot of $”? Really. The Saudis are ready to pay him his ridiculous $200 million. Fighting Benavidez- the fight the vast majority of fans, writers, commentators are clamoring for …who he is accused of ducking wont “enhance” his legacy. How do you categorize fighting Munguia? Easy night at the office? Is Canelo’s excuse not to fight Benavidez bc he wont fight another Mexican ? Get real!!

Golovkin was undefeated, on a hot streak, and in his prime. Canelo gave into the fans' demands, fought him at/near his peak, agreed to a rematch, and put on a career-best performance.

It's so disrespectful calling a living legend a coward.

True Mexicans don't openly disrespect their countrymen. They're a family-oriented culture who understand the importance of sticking together. Canelo is rich and proud, and Benavidez, who already lost to Gavril, screwed up his own career not appreciating the belts when he had them.
Disagree on nearly everything. Ggg clearly was on the decline when canelo finally chose to face him after an embarrassing display of ducking for nearly 2 years. He definitely didn’t peak and wasn’t on a hot streak. Still dangerous but not peak ggg. He was the mandatory before Cotto fought canelo and stepped aside to let that fight happen. When canelo won, instead of facing ggg, he picked a voluntary which was khan….a joke of a fight. Then moves down to weight bully beefy smith and then fights a drug addicted Chavez jr at a catch weight of 163.5 after insisting that he wouldn’t fight ggg at 160 because he needed time to “grow into the weight”. He didn’t fight ggg until he saw vulnerability in his last two fights with Brook and Jacobs. Fought him at 35 and got one of the most absurd draws in boxing. Was supposed to have a rematch and got popped for peds. Had the rematch and while he fought better, still didn’t deserve the win. Of 50 press row scorecards, only 2 had him winning. But the judges as they always have done with canelo, found a way to give him the benefit of the doubt. So I don’t hold him in the same esteem as you do.

As far as benavidez “losing” to Gavril, he didn’t. He’s undefeated. Had a close fight and came back to rematch and win convincingly. Sure you can criticize him for the failed drug test and missing weight but let’s not forget that canelo also failed a vada test and has missed weight twice. A bit hypocritical to hold that against benavidez as an excuse for canelo not fighting him. Wouldn’t you say?

Only in a physically demanding sport like boxing, is someone peaking and in their prime at 35 years old. These people are ******.

Beyond pathetic. But then, they're rabid fans of a man, and not the sport. Which is why they'll post shameless bull**** like the laughable crock you just quoted. Talk about embarrassing. "He cleared out 168". Incredible.

The Saudis don't want that. They're looking at Canelo-Crawford, a way better fight in every sense.

Munguia is definitely b) a money fight. Two Mexicans on Cinco de Mayo, really? It did over 500k

Canelo has more haters than Benavidez has fans. Who is really selling this fight?

At this point Canelo should call it a day... who actually looks forward to a Canelo fight apart from his loyal oddball fans? More time his fights are dull affairs - he certainly isn't acquiring any new fans from the way that he fights and he isn't finishing or knocking fighters out either. John Ryder was specifically set up in Mexico to get flattened by Canelo but he went the 36 mins distance with relative ease. Bivol really did finish Canelo off for good lol.
