b) fights that make a lot of money
c) fights that are fairly easy nights at the office
Benavidez is none of these, but if he fights and beats Bivol like he says he can, then he has something to offer.
That's all there is to it.
All champions have to defend against their #1 challengers, or they're supposed to get stripped of the title'(s) that they're holding hostage.
Being rich, and famous doesn't exclude him or any other champion from defending against the #1 mandatory challenger who's earned their shot at the title.
If he wants to pick, and choose easy fights then he has to be stripped of those titles, because he's not the champion of his division any longer.
To remain the champion you've got to fight the best fighter'(s) in your division, if you're not willing to do that then you haven't proven that your the best or the champion.
Having money, or your past achievements don't carry over to current status in this sport or any other for that matter.

First off, i wanted Canelo to fight Beni years ago. That said, the boxing world has changed in the last couple years DRAMATICALLY. Doubt the casuals know what im talking about.
Canelo isnt afraid of Benividas. He just smells that Sheik money and HE KNOWS they will cave eventually cause they got more money than god.

Canelo does not want to take any fight where he is not the clear favorite in.

The strange thing is Canelo has a PBC fight left , Benavidez is a PBC fighter so don't get why the PBC don't push for it and I never got why Benavidez was I'll only fight him on Showtime back in the day which was hardly a good look for a B side.
Eubank fight seems pointless unless you can do it in the UK for the money.

Benavidez had the WBC belt twice and disrespected his Mexican countrymen twice by snorting ******* and showing up overweight. He was too ****** to realize the opportunity in front of him. Why the hell would the WBC go out of their way to give Benavidez a 3rd chance against another fellow Mexican, a real Mexican from Mexico, in Canelo, a proven earner and a patriot who has done so much for his country?
Canelo became undisputed beating all three of the undefeated 168lb prime champions in Smith, Saunders, and Plant. Having money and those past achievements is exactly what carries over into his current status. That's why he's able to do whatever he wants. He's earned it.
What current best at 168? Canelo cleared it out. There's no one left but the cry baby who didn't even clear 50k buys his last time out.
You want Canelo to prove he's the best when he already has.
Benavidez. offers. nothing. to the face of boxing.
