Elite fighters like Crawford and Golovkin in the day, who don't absorb a lot of punishment, peak in their early-mid 30s. Controversy and matchmaking aside, he still laced up his gloves, got in the ring, and traded blows with the best of 'em.

Golovkin was undefeated, on a hot streak, and in his prime. Canelo gave into the fans' demands, fought him at/near his peak, agreed to a rematch, and put on a career-best performance.

It's so disrespectful calling a living legend a coward.

True Mexicans don't openly disrespect their countrymen. They're a family-oriented culture who understand the importance of sticking together. Canelo is rich and proud, and Benavidez, who already lost to Gavril, screwed up his own career not appreciating the belts when he had them.

The strange thing is Canelo has a PBC fight left , Benavidez is a PBC fighter so don't get why the PBC don't push for it and I never got why Benavidez was I'll only fight him on Showtime back in the day which was hardly a good look for a B side.

Eubank fight seems pointless unless you can do it in the UK for the money.

I think it's been more like 4 years, but it's outrageous, su****ious, and corrupt all at the same time! Many boxing fans are just plain sick, and tired of it already!

We're taking issue with the past couple of years, not his whole body of work boxing IQ. Especially hCanelo Alvarez's blatantly disgraceful ducking of Benavidez.

Canelo and his team underestimated Bivol and embarrassingly payed for it. “Daring to be great “ would have been taking the challenge of the rematch with Bivol like He said he wanted and was going to do. Canelo does not want to take any fight where he is not the clear favorite in.

By 30 Canelo had fought monster GGG twice and Mayweather too. Not to mention a couple other world class opponents (GGG was robbed of course).

You could even argue Crawford has a yellow strip in his back and is soft given his lack of credible threats.
”Monster” Ggg was past his prime…Canelo ducked him for years and wisely aged Him out.

dude also forgot that bivol even offered to come down a division to beat him up and he said no thank you and fought who he fought instead. Man literally said “I’ll come down to your division and beat you there too”

What a yellow belly coward. Seriously, who has he even fought?
Schooled by Floyd, Waited til Ggg was past his prime, the next 3 were well past their primes, underestimated and got schooled by Bivol and wimped out on the challenge of a rematch, many thought he lost to Lara and again wanted no part of a rematch. the rest are good but never would be considered great challenges.

JCC followed up his fight with Hector Camacho with Bruce Pearson who had 10 wins and 10 losses. After the Meldrick Taylor fight Chavez fought some guy named Akwei Addo who had a 5-3 record. In 1995 he fought Craig Houk in Chicago. Houk had a stellar record of 51-25 at the time. Look up any great fighter and you will find they fought more mediocre fighters than great ones. Look up Ali's record, Ray Robinson's, Joe Louis's, and any of the all-time greats. There are no exemptions. Look at Tim Bradley's record. Sme thing. So why is Canelo so special?
Your comparison with Jcc are weak and in the context of “history” not the same. The Pearson fight took place in Mexico about a MONTH and a half after the Camacho bout…OBVIOUS exhibition for the hometown fans. Same for the Addo fight - THREE months after the war He had with Taylor and in SPAIN! Pro fight yes..but another OBVIOUS exhibition bout nobody considered a real fight. Jcc fought numerous pro fights that all knew were exhibitions that were not even televised in the States. Canelo is now cherry-picking average fighters who are represent no real challenge or threat…and getting paid ppv millions. If Canelo is this great Mexican warrior who fights on great Mexican historical dates..He should be taking on the best challenges and give the fans memorable fights. Jcc would have never ducked Benavidez..especially with all the fans and critics calling him out!!
