Shlt fight. Should have been a draw simply on how low the offensive output was for both fighters.

i can understand the judges not wanting to take away a belt from a champ when the other guy runs the whole night, but the reality is that Ortiz showed good ring generalship and Teo was a clown who failed to cut off the ring for the full 12 rounds.

Strategically the only single thing that didn't go as Ortiz would have wanted was getting butted by Teo's forehead, so harsh to end with an L.

As I say, a draw probbaly the fairest result given how few punches landed.

117-111? Don't try too hard to pretend you weren't paid off.

Vegas, where the "MONEY" making fighters are gifted decisions or nearly impossible to beat without KOing them.
if it’s any reason boxing “loses fans” it’s because of crappy fighters like Ortiz who run all fight and don’t engage. I’m shocked anyone cares he lost or was robbed. That was a very very bad showing and a waste of everyone’s time who showed up and paid for that fight. BAD MATCHMAKING on top ranks part to air this crap before the Super Bowl.

It takes a real cynic to turn around and call that crap “masterful boxing”.
I actually felt Weisfeld was generous to Ortiz. I gave Ortiz one clear round and two even ones. That’s it. You can’t win rounds, or a fight running so shamelessly.

Ortiz’ boxing was so “masterful” that he will no doubt jump right back into another title shot or an immediate rematch.

          Oh no wait…

Lopez does better against an aggressive fighters than a boxer. He is a counterpuncher and a fighter that moves so much won't give him does opportunities.

Surprised how many folks here don't understand the basics of scoring in boxing. Ortiz obviously made it a supreme snoozer, and I would never pay to see him fight, but he was clearly the ring general in there and made Lopez look like what he is, a fool. Teofimo had a chance in there to make it a fight if he knew how to cut off the ring, but he didn't. It's as simple as that. Lopez's own fans were booing him. It was a difficult fight to score because neither fighter scored a lot of punches, I thought Ortiz did enough. I am happy he lost tho.

Forget the fact that there's nothing in the rules of boxing that suggests that you're supposed to do a **** more than the champion to take the belt, that's one of the silliest myths in boxing. The sad reality is that nowadays to beat the A side you have to really do **** more, and even then if you leave it to the judges they'll rob your ass. But that's because boxing is a terribly corrupt business. It's disgraceful.

I completely agree on the size of rings, some of these rings are too damn big. But also some of these so-called elite boxers don't know **** about cutting off the ring. Beterbiev is a clear example of how you are supposed to do it. Because of his lack in actual skills, Lopez will always struggle with counterpunchers and slick boxers tho, small or big ring.

I love the sweet science. That said, that WASNT what Ortiz was doing. He had all the tools to fook up Teo but not the BALLS. I’d never pay to see Ortiz fight again. I would pay to see Teo fight again. That boy needs to learn how to cut off a ring!!

Teo’s father is what’s limiting him. Sadly. I get the feeling that the difference with Bill Haney is that they were humbled by the Loma fight (on the low) and brought in other folks to assist. Just can’t believe he didn’t cut Ortiz off or capitalize on him bailing out to his right. It didn’t have to be a boring fight.
