I see your point. Both guys had low outputs, but Ortiz was more consistent with his low output throughout the rounds even tho most of it was jabs IMO. Lopez, as aggressive as he was, wasn't really effective and didn't really do anything to change the tenor of the fight while spending most of it following Ortiz around waiting for an opening. Dudes complain that a guy moves and "runs" a lot, but knowing that, don't do anything to make him stop moving and force them to fight. It's all part of the game. All in all, this was one of those fights where you just flip a coin and call heads or tails the winner. Always difficult to judge a fight where both guys are playing cat and mouse and neither guy was all that effective at doing it. The money guy is always gonna get the benefit of the doubt. Just the way it is.

Nope. Sándor martin was actually punching back and not just running around the ring unlike jermain Ortiz. Ortiz was trying to jab and grab all night. Sándor threw combinationsComment

The only fight that I've seen as of late that was even worse than this one, was between Stevenson, and De Los Santos.
I mean how can you call yourself the best fighter since Ali (what a joke), you're not the clown of boxing, you're the joke of boxing.
Then after the fight when you're getting booed during your interview, you told the fan's to blow you, you're both just a pair of pig's.
Your stock in boxing went down exponentially after this stink fest, you couldn't cut off the ring on an opponent that you were a 7-1 betting favorite.
I also don't understand how Ortiz thought that he could possibly win this fight without throwing more punches.
Everyone know's that your supposed to take the title from the champion, you didn't do that tonight!
Teofimo has psychological issues, and he can't even control his emotion's during the fight, it's almost like we're watching a movie about a self destructive boxer!Last edited by Boricua181; 02-09-2024, 10:51 PM.Comment

Wow. I had to sleep before commenting on this fight. Whilst I agree with the user who states that Martin was more aggressive I have a couple things that give me headache.
How has Teo not learnt A THING since the Martin fight?! How has he not even asked a trainer like Abel Sanchez to come in camp and show him the art of cutting of a ring. Nothing frustrates me more seeing so called “world class fighters” incapable of something that should be simple enough for a blue chip fighter to comprehend.
I had all these hopes about Teo, but how can he beat a Devin Haney without knocking him out? This fight has ridiculed any personal opinions I had about Teo and the whole 140 division. It’s also educated me!
* So disappointed Teo didn’t close his man off and finish the show and if not finish the show, Atleast put a hurting on the guy.
I wasn’t impressed much with Ortiz either, but he had his plan so have to respect it. I just had such high hopes and regards for Lopez. I guess he really believes the smoke he and his dad blow up his backside.
im not happy at all.Last edited by TookHerToThe0; 02-09-2024, 05:22 AM.Comment
