Just keep gobbling up what Bradley and ESPN feed you and you’ll be an expert in no time.
espn was defending and making excuses for teofimo, dummy.

Either way 2 losses I saw from teofimo had he not had a name he'd have lost. Teofimo vs Mattias let's make the fight. Haney n Garcia are already busy. Teofimo won't take the risk less its for the belt or vs a tank/Garcia. Tank should make an offer to teofimo the weakest champ @ 140 while Mattias style gives teofimo a 40% chance

      • After watching the fight it occurs to me that Lopez does not know how to either: cut the ring, or, fight off the dominant fighting line. Watch pac or Sonny Liston, both of whom had great speed and control of distance, off the main line... Liston never needed to cut the ring.

Lopez does neither of the above and Ortiz moves nicely. Unfortunately like Caleb Plant, Ortiz needs to learn to move efficiently. Both guys move way too much. He could have countered Lopez all night.

It's a shame, Lopez has talent but really has to clean his act up and learn how he wants to apply pressure. Ortez moved very nicely, but really needs to study the gap how to enter it, and how to exit it using angles. It will save his legs when he needs them.

          • Just watched it fresh

            Gave lopez rounds 1,5,6,7,10,11,12

And ortiz won the other rounds

That's me watching unbiased and on exchanges nothing to do with who's the aggressor or runner

Whoever is crying robbery needs to take the beer goggles off and let the tears run dry

Would also like to add that teofimo was in against a runner whom was extremely talented and hard to pin down...

teo isnt a pressure fighter he's an aggressive power counter puncher and hes still only 26

He'll be in some cracking and entertaining fights with guys looking to make a statement and take his belt from him

think he'd struggle against tank and haney

Thursday night fights used to be a regular thing on ESPN, back in the day. Actually, I think it was Friday night fights.

Though I've heard about it from the opposite side where aggressive fighter A needs to be able to find a way to cut off and trap defensive fighter B. If he can't and fighter B is still landing his own shots in the process, doesn't that mean fighter A is incomplete and shouldn't win?

I also understand the idea, you need to take the belts from the champion. Though then you ask, did he if he out played the champion who couldn't figure him out? I don't know, a lot of flippy flop type of people depending on who they favor.

I can't tell you how much I had to deal with buddies who said Pac didn't beat Floyd because he couldn't properly get to Floyd to engage enough and that it was up to Pac to make the fight a fight. I'm like what? So in that logic, wasn't it Teo who had to turn the fight into a fight and make Ortiz trade with him? He never really accomplished that because he was too smart knowing he he wouldn't fair well in those exchanges.

If we're judging boxing off entertainment, then yes, Ortiz put on a snoozefest. Does that equal instant loss? If we're judging off ring intelligence and trying to not get hit much while landing pitty patty shots for 12 rounds, Ortiz would have won based on that.
I believe Teo lost. Make no mistake about it. But I don’t think the fans in attendance give two spits that Ortiz was “robbed” because he robbed them the second the paid for their tickets. It was a pitiful performance by him, and outside of his mom and his trainers, you can probably count one one hand the amount of people who would like to see a rematch of that fight to “set things right”. That’s all I’m saying. Him getting robbed didn’t turn people off of the sport. Him fighting like that did.
