Would you blame Usyk for walking away?

Walk away? From a shot at the title???? Who does that?
The plastic belts he owns will never be mistaken for the one real championship of the world.
Only the most casual fan would think so; unaware of title history.
How rediculous.Comment

Putting that aside, can you speak to the actual question. How many postponements would you tolerate if you were Usyk?Comment

They had a contract for April 2023 - Usyk broke it. Fury screwed December 2023. So they were 1:1. We can argue that what happened the other day was Fury's fault. But since everything is fine for May, that means both sides agreed. So Usyk is to be blamed if he walks away because he could have chosen something now and said "Fury will wait after I fulfil my IBF duties" and he would have been reasonable. Because he was given way too many compromises by four sanctioning bodies so far. But this is just a theory, Usyk will not walk away from the fight. Let's just hope he doesn't suffer some injury and I don't mean it in the sense he would cheat, I mean for real - those things happen after all.Comment

Every champion for the last 24 years has done it. Even making allowances for periods of the Klitschko's twin reign.
We've been one fight away from an Undisputed champion for a long time. No-one has done it. At some point they've all moved on and made other fights.
Credit to Usyk - he seems intent on getting Fury in the ring and is prepared to wait him out.
Meanwhile Fury has shown nothing like the same single minded intent. He took a quick money maker less than 2 months before a signed undisputed fight and messed it up.
Personally I think Usyk was crazy to accept the December delay and is crazy to accept this. After all the delay, inactivity and multiple camps he's going to end up fighting Hrgovic - a fight he could have had in December.
The tail end of Wlad's great career was spent in multiple camps chasing a fight against a supposedly legitimately injured/unwell Fury. Fury should be remorseful about that but I've never heard him say a word.
Here's another future Hall of Famer getting the same treatment.Comment
