Now we've got over 3 months for something to go wrong. And with Fury, there's an incredible chance that something will go wrong. It happens too often to suggest it's just bad luck. Plus no-one is saying they've chosen that date because Fury will be ready - they've chosen it because it's the last date possible. Fury may not be ready.

As for the cut, I'm inclined to agree with Froch - that looked a really sloppy spar two weeks from a fight this big. It wasn't just bad luck, it was crap preparation. He got himself split by a little fella because they were having a scrappy spar. And that's without considering conspiracies, which I'd never rule out with Fury. There's nothing I'd put past him.

3 months out - I don't think the fight happens.
I suggested Fury was leading us into an indefinite postponement death spiral in November. Allowing him to move off that December 23rd date always looked a bad idea to me.

If I was Usyk, I would go right after that eye.

Shows me Fury is serious, and that this cut may have just been something that happened because of carelessness in training and not to dodge out.

Could it have been as some posters are saying that Fury used it to get more time to prepare because he was still not in great shape? Maybe. But so long as the fight happens I do not care. End the excuses. Give us fans the freaking unification we have been denied since Joshua and Wilder were undefeated and playing the blame games with each other.
I personally would prefer for Usyk to take care of Hrgovic in the interim, not least because it would resolve the problem of the unification winner being stripped.

Given Turki's quotes, it would seem Team Usyk have been strongly induced to not simply walk away from the deal.

This is the issue. Usyk has three belts and not much time to maximise his opportunities.

Fury delays have now taken 6 months off the tail end of his career. From December to May and who knows how much longer.

I wouldn't blame Usyk for saying screw it, I'll get a mandatory out of the way. Waiting for Fury can be a very long wait.

Just watched the interview and it came across that the fighter who cancels pays out of their own pocket.

Why not putting Fury/Usyk and Beterbiev/Bivol on the same Super-Card since these 2 dates are so close? That would be an historic night....
