That would make a lot of sense now that you bring it up. Beterbiev vs Bivol is a top guy fight, but if Bivol wins its likely to be a stinker. Much better as a comain than main event you could argue for that reason.

The problem would be the rest of the Feb 17 undercard tho since June 1 undercard will be the 5 vs 5 card. If they were less anxious to waste money they'd just have upgraded Jai vs Briedis 2 as the Feb 17 main event & kept the rest of the undercard in tact. Sh^t the Saudis seem to love Jai so if he got by Briedis again they could put him as a feature fight on the Fury vs Usyk card too which seems like a good outcome for them too.

No big deal to me. Can't expect a fighter to enter the ring
without being healed... especially with a gash that bad. Too
much of a chance of a ring doctor stoppage to risk it.

Yep, Usyk's going to definitely target that cut.

They got any medical evidence for that cut? Even more pictures? It looks like a Hollywood special effects makeup job to me.

Looks like finally in 2024 we might see Fury vs. Usyk, we might finally catch Bigfoot on video and we might get solid proof the Loch Ness Monster is real. Everything is possible.

Fury was grappling with a little guy in that video and he got well and truly dented while showing no defence against the left hand. Usyk would be able to do whatever he wants with him.[/QUOTE

You can't judge Fury's whole fight plan on a mere 30sec clip
              He's got 12rounds to Re-adjust
              Lololololol

I was responding to someone who did exactly that.

This standby opp sh^t happens more often in MMA, but I've never heard of it referred to as a trap door clause before lol.
It was something decided on 2 weeks out I think. Been a long ass time lol

Yea that used to happen more in boxing. Believe Evander was set to fight Tyson before the **** sh^t dropped. Idk if Tyson was legit injured or having a guy on trial for **** fighting for the HW belt was too bad press for the event but Tyson was eventually out. Than Francesco Damini was put in til he got hurt a couple days before the fight. Than Bert Cooper stepped in.

But this sh^t Turki is doing is UFC type sh^t. Hes saying there is gonna be high level standby opponents for Fury & Usyk, so I assume two different guys but who knows, who'll be training for a fight. Sometimes the UFC gets better main events off of standby opponents.

Slipping in the AJ vs Ngannou winner for Fury if Usyk gets injured or Zhang (assuming he beats Parker) or Ngannou (assuming he beats AJ) for Usyk if Fury gets injured again would be dope.

There'll be another drama weeks before the fight. Trust Fury to deliver on that
