Is it fair to label Andrade a fraud?

No, he just got old overnight. He no longer has the same size, youth, power and stamina as he once had more than eight years ago.

Yet we were told how skilled Andrade was, how he was so elusive, sharp, accurate, slippery, yet the moment he stepped up, we saw absolutely none of those attributes.

I thought he won one round, the second. Benavidez looked the sharper fighter, he found him easy to hit and he essentially just beat the sh** out of him for 6 rounds until Andrade quit on his stool.

This guy was never an elite fighter.
No. DAZN wouldn’t allow Andrade to fight GGG or Canelo when he was active and prime.

If he was a fraud, they’d have thrown him In with either to unify the belts. He was never elite, but never had a real chance to prove he was.

He has a lackluster resume because he is an awkward, skilled southpaw with no fan base. No one bug ever dared fight him.

I am no Andrade fan but let’s never forget how all the big boys at and around 154-168 avoided him.

Avoided him based on what though?

Andrade objectively rejected fights with Jermell, Korobov, Janibek and Parker.

I can’t really recall anybody objectively rejecting the chance to fight Andrade aside from Saunders.

Andrade brought nothing to the table, he wasn’t avoided he was irrelevant.

He didn’t look very skilled on Saturday, looked out of his depth almost instantly. Perceived lesser fighters have given Benavidez far more problems.

Andrade never proved himself. There will always be question marks over his ability.

Except for all the guys he turned down over the years. He had plenty of chances to step up against better competition. Not necessarily elite guys, but I don't understand how there's still a good number of people who willingly ignore his past decisions. Not defending the bigger names, but I can't blame them for not giving him a chance when he didn't give so many others one as well. Saunders was the only bigger step up fight he accepted and that's not really saying much.

Nobody avoided Andrade. Andrade avoided Lara, Charlo, Korobov, and Janibek like the plague, though.

Saunders didn't even reject Andrade, he failed a drug test.

He stepped up way too late and lacked the experience when it was big fight time

need to fight some good opponents while young to develop full potential

He rejected it second time round. Was made mandatory in 2019 but instead went to 168.

Ok but in context- he went to dazn and then they blocked him from canelo and ggg. They could’ve unified the division on their network.

It is clear why they didn’t- because he was definitely capable of beating both GGG and Canelo.

Been saying the whole time that he's overrated. That was his very first world champion of any sort that he's ever faced. He ducked everyone else. His best win is STILL that split decision against Jack Culcay.

Not really sure what beating him proves other than that Benavidez is the only fight to make for Canelo at 168.

Maybe he can join in the overrated bum championships with Munguía, Berlanga, and Charlo.
