No, he didn't get a fight until he was 35 years old and in his 3rd weight class.

None of those people wanted to fight him at 154 or 160, so now they're rejoicing that he's not as quick as he was 5 years ago.

If anything, he's just another victim of modern boxing politics

Thank God, Terence Crawford beat the odds

Yet we were told how skilled Andrade was, how he was so elusive, sharp, accurate, slippery, yet the moment he stepped up, we saw absolutely none of those attributes.

I thought he won one round, the second. Benavidez looked the sharper fighter, he found him easy to hit and he essentially just beat the sh** out of him for 6 rounds until Andrade quit on his stool.

This guy was never an elite fighter.
I never cared for Andrade but he has a REAL DEAL pedigree in the amateurs and went to the Olympics unlike 98% of todays fighters.
He did meet and beat Thurman and Trout but lost to Porter & Lara in the amateurs, so he’s definitely a good fighter.

        World titlists Crawford has fought:
        Ricky Burns
        Yuriorkis Gamboa
        Ray Beltran
        Viktor Postol
        Julius Indongo
        Jeff Horn
        Amir Khan
        Kell Brook
        Shawn Porter
        Errol Spence Jr

        World titlists Andrade has fought:
        David Benavidez

Stop making excuses for Andrade. He could have fought Lara, Janibek, Charlo, etc but instead chose to fight Euro level guys for vacant belts and then defend them against even lower level guys. His record is a farce and he lost his only step up fight in humiliating fashion.

Do you know why Benavidez is in line to fight Canelo? Because he beat guys like Plant, Lemieux, Dirrell, and Andrade first. Andrade barely handled guys like Williams, Sulecki, Martirosyan, and Culcay.

Andrade is good. Not as good as his ego has suggested, but at the right weight, good. I just wish we could have known how good; he fought no one. Fighting Benavidez doesn't really answer whether or not he is a fraud because he's got so many disadvantages; it would have been an upset otherwise.

Sadly for Andrade, he just mismanaged his career. Point blank. At 35, he'll be a gatekeeper at best in the SMW division. His best bet is to go back to 160 where he might have some success.

              Yes.

People who hated Canelo, GGG, and/or Charlo started hyping him so they could say whichever fighter they hated was ducking him. Just the usual NSB fangirl nonsense.

But just as many people, myself included, have been calling it out for years - dude's best win was eeking out an SD against VANES MARTIROSYAN at 154.

The first time he was going to have to face someone dangerous, he vacated his ****in' belt.

Andrade was living on hype Eddie Hearn's welfare checks, just like Tevin Farmer. Total pretender.

I haven't seen much of Andrade but what I saw, he wasn't impressive. Perhaps he has aged and not what he used to be however Benavidez really beat him up and didn't look to struggle much in doing it. I think we can forget about Andrade and move on to the next.

I'm not the biggest Farmer fan but his resume is still a lot better than Andrade's.

                  Farmer vs world titlists:
L vs Jose Pedraza TKO 8 (future 2 division world titlist)
W vs Gamaliel Diaz UD 10 (former world titlist)
ND vs Kenichi Ogawa SD 12 (originally a loss for Tevin, but Ogawa popped for PEDs) [future world titlist]
W vs Billy Dib UD 12 (former world titlst)
L vs Jojo Diaz UD 12 (took Farmer's title)

Diaz and Dib were past their primes when Farmer beat them and he lost his other step-up fights but at least he fought some actual competition. And a lot of people thought he got robbed against Ogawa anyway. Andrade's first fight against a future/current/former titlist was Benavidez.

Andrade isn’t elite, we agree. I just think he got shafted.
so you acknowledge that he was NOT elite, and everyone knows he cant break an egg, yet you think he had a good shot to actually BEAT Canelo or GGG, 2 ELITE ATG fighters who can crack for real??

                    Go home Dunn, you're drunk.

                      No, I’m not.

I think we will never know. He could be another Jermain Taylor v Bhop.

I also think if Andrade was so easy to beat, DAZN would’ve attempted to unify the division.

If nothing else it would give them a marketable unification fight for one of their 2 big names.
