  • Another chunk of it is technical. Haney starts his punches differently from the usual. Rather than bringing his power up from the ground, then turning the hips and transferring weight, he pushes the shoulder first then rotates after. That cuts down on the telegraph because it gets the fist moving...

  • What about Inoue or Crawford? Could throw Canelo in the mix as well.

What ties all those fighters together? IMO, discipline and humility when it comes to craft. All of the fighters you've named have spent their entire lives in the gym honing their craft. Not a one of them is known for...

  • You saw something very different than what I saw. And there's no standing 8 counts in professional boxing, and hasn't been since 1998. The fact that you don't know the difference says everything here....

  • Usyk should insist on VADA for the rematch lol. I wouldn't be surprised to see wild boar Fury looking for old solutions now that he needs answers badly.

  • Well, let's take a look at how many times Errol Spence Jr defended his IBF belt against a mandatory in 4 years...

    One time.

Then look at how long you gave Crawford when he had Spence's outstanding mandatory after he won undisputed at 147.

    If you are willing to...

  • I buy my fair share of PPVs. I will say that they need to up their game on the quality of the product. Constant buffering and fades into pixelated messes are annoying, especially from ESPN. I've had several PPV cards from ESPN get so unwatchable that ESPN ended up having to refund my money. Like,...

  • I wouldn't have complained about a TKO stoppage, but Fury has very good recuperative powers, it was a historic undisputed fight, and by the rules, that's a perfectly good KD call. Considering how well Fury did recover, IMO, as a vocal Fury critic, it was the correct call to make. Dunno why people...

  • Tell you what, if Dubois beats Hrgovic, that will really cement Usyk on top. Dubois lost every second of the fight that he wasn't punching Usyk in the cup. Then it's pretty much just Parker and maybe Kabayel left as possible threats.

I'd like to see Fury retire for good and stop hanging...

  • Haney has been a weight bully his whole career, regularly 20+ pounds more than his opponents his whole career until Garcia, who he still likely outweighed on the night. Should be pretty obvious, really.

  • That's rich. Guy who got a corrupt gift from the judges in the last fight is complaining about the judges?

I think Taylor is overrated, and Catterall has been pretty consistent, but I think this one is must win for Taylor. Rooting for Catterall but picking Taylor to pull it out.

  • I still think Fury lost to Ngannou also. Still 117-111 Usyk. I wouldn't have argued with a stoppage loss for Fury either, but considering his recuperative powers, I do think it was a legit KD as well. Good argument to be made either way. But there's no way Fury won vs Usyk.

  • Lineal has been broken so many times by retirements etc that's it's largely symbolic. Some people place a lot of value on it. I don't. Says everything that Naoya Inoue only has 2 lineal championships despite beating the consensus top guys in 4 divisions. Junior fly was vacant since 2011, so there wasn't...

Also going to mention that the whole reason P4P exists is to put a little more respect on the lower weight divisions. Everyone knows that if Usyk fought Bud or Inoue that it would be a massacre. The point is to credit skills outside of being in the heavyweight division. That's part of why I have a...

  • Fury is good, not great. The Fury stans are now working overtime to declare that Usyk is the best fighter ever, because otherwise they have to confront the fact that he was never as good as they thought he was.

I'm pretty sure they were. I'm just amused by the sea change that happens after every big fight. People didn't even want to give him credit for beating Joshua back to back. That perspective sure hasn't aged well... That's part of why I value the posters who are consistent and support their positions...

  • Thanks. I'm curious if there are other fighters in history who have been the road warriors that Usyk has. How does he stack up historically in terms of winning titles on the road?...
