Was Franklin robbed or a close fight that could have went either way?

That's a good point. While I was watching the fight, I thought to myself how dirty of a fighter Whyte was. Alot of the "body snatching" Whyte was doing was below the beltline. The pushing down of Franklins head so that Dillian could land an uppercut was pretty blatant (and happened many times).Close and competitive but giving a draw to Whyte would have been kind.
I'd say it was a robbery. Not a huge one but Whyte didn't deserve the nod.
The refereeing was disgusting also Whyte landed so many low blows and shots to the kidneys/round the back, constantly pulling Franklins head down and into shots or pulling his head down and leaning all over him and I am not sure he was even warned once? Credit to Franklin just getting on with it. Then Franklin had decent success backing Whyte up and beating him on the inside then he pulls them apart as he was teeing off for use of the head allegedly
Starts getting involved threatening to dock points
The ref seemed oblivious and the commentators certainly didn't mention it.Comment

Jermaine Franklin landed more clean punches, outfought and out-thought Dillian Whyte, looked more active on the inside, had the flashier punches on the outside. Dillian looked shocked by the speed, showed a lack of respect for the power, and then got rocked several times in the latter stages of the fight. Dillian is basically shot and is a sitting duck, close to retirement after one more big payday. Franklin, although small, gave a great account of himself, and definitely did enough to win the fight. A draw would have been harsh. Obviously, AJ-Whyte II makes even more sense, one more big chance for Eddie Hearns to rinse the Matchroom casuals.Comment

Look at you raging.
Stop projecting your sexual fantasies about Eddie you sad little troll.
You literally made a thread titled: How Dillian Whyte knocks out Fury. You can’t question anybody’s knowledge of boxing.Comment

Definite robbery. I can't find more than 4 or 5 rounds for Whyte.
Franklin is horrible and Whyte needed home cooking to edge out a majority decision win. Pathetic.Comment

Ryder got his lucky break already when he got the gift decision against that guy who used to be Danny Jacobs. Makes up for the robbery loss against Smith.
Still, I like Ryder and I have no problem with him getting either a Canelo payday or a belt to call his own.Comment

I find it interesting that most posters thought it was too close to be a robbery yet not one poster in this thread is claiming Whyte won.Comment
