Yeah Callum will fight anyone. There was some talk of Smith-Buatsi for the WBC interim but Team Buatsi weren’t too keen on it from what I’ve heard. Providing Beterbiev deals with Yarde it probably happens in the latter half of 2023. Callum may take a tune up in between.

Jermaine Franklin landed more clean punches, outfought and out-thought Dillian Whyte, looked more active on the inside, had the flashier punches on the outside. Dillian looked shocked by the speed, showed a lack of respect for the power, and then got rocked several times in the latter stages of the fight. Dillian is basically shot and is a sitting duck, close to retirement after one more big payday. Franklin, although small, gave a great account of himself, and definitely did enough to win the fight. A draw would have been harsh. Obviously, AJ-Whyte II makes even more sense, one more big chance for Eddie Hearns to rinse the Matchroom casuals.

Unfortunately in boxing, as in life (at times), when one is coming upwards into the den of wolves, they have to do more than enough... Winning against a shot, stalwart, shopworn fighter in his twilight was not enough, Franklin had to leave an exclamation point, or three... somewhere. Boxing has always had that aspect to the scoring, right or wrong.
