People are asinine to boxing economics. DAZN has been toxic to boxing since they jumped in. Overpaying fighters and not providing much in the way of worthwhile content. Now they added a PPV fee along with their subscription fee meaning even less people will watch. I think bivol beats beterbiev but it makes no sense to fight DAZN. No one saw bivol beat canelo. Canelo is losing his draw power by fighting on a niche streaming service that barely anyone watches. Bivol got paid pennies to fight canelo when u compare what plant and BJS made. Hearn wants to use beterbiev to make bivol a bigger star and bring eyes to DAZN. Why would ESPN or too rank be interested in that? If the fight is on ESPN it makes sense so many more will see it. Same reason charlo-mungia on showtime was a great deal. DAZN not paying their fighters and nobody watches that service but want half the profits of any unification and they don’t want to foot the bill. The sooner DAZN fades from boxing the sooner we can see these fights take place. I watched boxing for 30 years I never heard of Eddie Hearn till a few years ago and he’s been as divisive as I’ve ever seen in the landscape of boxing

It dawns upon me that is the reason they picked Bivol. Charlo asked for too much money, Benavidez was too dangerous, there were no bums left to beat up so they took the Bivol fight to get maximum revenue, and in case Canelo lost the plot plays out like: Canelo dares to be great!!!/ and still be morally the winner.

It didn't go as planned since they could never dreamed that Clen got beaten that bad in a 12-0 fashion.

I'm not trying to criticize but I'm legitimately confused with the two comments in bold.

As for overpaying fighters, I will never say that a fighter is overpaid. PBC was criticized for this (overpaying fighters for inferior matchups) early on and Triller was as well when they outbid for Teo's fight with Kambosos (which they defaulted on) and even for Michael Hunter (how much to fight "White Delight" Wilson and Jerry Forrest?). A fighter should get what they can get but they should also have realistic expectations when the demand doesn't support their perceived value.

I don't see Hearn as any better or any worse than any other promoter. Just different varieties of slimeball. I don't think DAZN, Hearn or GBP are any more of an impediment to fights getting made than any other promoter or content provider. Remember when Bob allowed Gamboa and JuanMa to "marinate"?

What prevents fights getting made is greed and pride. All of the promoters have that in spades.

Hearn is the worst promoter in boxing. He only caters to 3 fighters(AJ/canelo/GGG) 1 of which isn’t even really a matchroom fighter (canelo). Look how he handled andrade and haney 2 high level talents that should have been fighting the best in their divisions. Hearn couldn’t even produce a GGG-andrade unification both matchroom fighters for YEARS who have been fighting BUMS. Yet he’s begging top rank to have a purse bid to showcase their fighters on a service no one will pay to watch? No one has DAZN on their tv. It’s not an app. You have to hook up ur computer to ur TV and stream it like that. No one watching that garbage. Maybe if I’m on the subway and have to catch my sports on the go I might but this is Saturday night prime time big money fights. Hearn has been trying to slam this square peg into a round hole for years burning millions of dollars and shelving great fighters while his schills on here sing his praises. GGG vs canelo isn’t even a good fight no one cares about it but they will pay 100M for it. Everyone already knows what will happen but Hearn is pushing it for some dumb reason, probably cause they’re into bumlovkin for over 100M in his last 3 fights murata dervy and szermeta all trash fights. Meanwhile andrade holding a piece of the MW belt trying to get a big fight had to go over and fight for frank warren at 168 to get a not even big fight. I agree with alot of your posts but I'm not sure I agree with some of the points you make here:

1) Andrade has had the same exact issues with every promoter he's done business with. At some point you have to look at the fighter if they never seem to get fights under various promotions (see Regis Prograis as another example). One could criticize PBC for the fact that Benavidez and Plant fought each other. These issues aren't unique to Hearn.

2)) I watch DAZN on my TV as an app. The only time I watch it on my laptop is when I am traveling. That is also how I watch my ESPN and my my ProBox boxing content...via apps on my TV.

3) I'm not sure if the "STFU" is directed at me but I hope not. I haven't been rude to you, I just disagree.

4) I don't think Haney has ever said anything negatively about Hearn. He was a free agent and continued to work with him on a fight by fight basis and left for Top Rank to get the belts.

I'm not a Hearn fan and I don't prefer DAZN over others. All of the promoters have made good fights and all have made bad fights. The various content providers all have positives and negatives. I just don't understand when people reserve all their criticism for one while turning a blind eye to the same BS from others.
