Why do so many consider super champions the champ but not franchise champ?

This is false. The WBC has repeatedly referred to Kambosos as the undisputed champion, has confirmed his title is higher than Haney's, and the Franchise world championship is listed above the regular world championship in the WBC ratings.

Giant picture of Devin Haney under "lightweight champion" on their website, small tab still listing Teofimo Lopez as Franchise Champion.

If you scroll through the champion list here, Devin Haney is again listed as the lightweight champion with Lopez designated Franchise Champion at the end of the list.

        Great point.

Super Champion and Franchise Champion are essentially the same thing.

Those are not the official WBC ratings. These are the official WBC ratings:

The official WBC ratings clearly place FRANCHISE CHAMPION above CHAMPION. The WBC has repeatedly said Kambosos is the undisputed lightweight champion.

When directly asked about it over the weekend Sulaiman refused to say which boxer was the true world champion, and simply decided to say he was proud of both. He wants to have his cake and eat it too.

The two guys are listed in opposite order on at least four different sections of the WBC's own website. If that's not sending mixed messages, I don't know what is.

The major difference is every media outlet and all the other organizations recognize the WBA Super title, whereas only the WBC recognizes the Franchise Champion, and Sulaiman himself refuses to say whether Kambosos or Haney is their true champion. Nobody, anywhere is confused about whether Usyk or Bryan is the true WBA heavyweight champion.

Of course he wants to have his cake and eat it too, just like the WBA has done for DECADES with the world championship and super world championship. It's the same thing.

There is no dis*****g that the Franchise world championship ranks above the world championship in the official WBC ratings. There's just no logical justification to suggest Kambosos isn't the undisputed champion. He holds the highest honor in every organization.

Depending on what link you click on the WBC's own website. Some links have Haney listed above Kambosos.

Nobody, anywhere is confused about who the WBA champion is. The WBC themselves intentionally muddied the waters and the president of the organization went out of his way not to clarify when given the chance.

This is why they need to have Haney fight Kambosos and then never mention the Franchise designation in any weight class ever again.

No lie they must've just changed it after I made this thread because at the time of my thread they had Canelo listed as franchise champ above Charlo at mw(maybe someone from Wbc/Charlos team, etc. saw this thread ?(joking but still a crazy coincidence)

Go here, use the arrow to go to the end:
                      https://wbcboxing.com/en/championsratings/

Saul Alvarez still listed as a Franchise Champion.

Again, just goes to show how even the WBC itself doesn't have a clear idea about the mess they created.
