This is false. The WBC has repeatedly referred to Kambosos as the undisputed champion, has confirmed his title is higher than Haney's, and the Franchise world championship is listed above the regular world championship in the WBC ratings.
"The WBC... has confirmed his title is higher than Haney's"
You're wrong. The super world championship was specifically created so people could duck their mandatories. Some super world championships have gone years and years without there ever being a mandatory. Thankfully the US government threatened the WBA and they're being forced to get rid of the super world championship. Once they do, I'm sure the WBC will get rid of the franchise world championship.
You're wrong. The WBA super championship one of the main 4 recognised world titles needed to be undisputed, and there have been mandatory defences. Just because there have been cases of no defences doesn't mean it's not there. This has been the case with other main champions in other bodies as well so stop right there. We all know money talks in boxing and there are tons of politics involved, but the franchise title is waaaaaaaaay more of a joke.
If only Lomachenko hadn't entertained this nonsense, we'd all be better off - except the WBC of course as this Franchise scam was all about collecting double the sanctioning fees.
loma should have done a wilder and told them to F off, now those wbc clowns are using the LW division to boast about how effective their mcdonalds belt is
We didn't get this Haney style argument with the Reg. They announced, there was some debating with fans but ratings pretty much always nix Reg recognition and support Super.
When you went to ratings you only ever saw reg mentioned on the WBA's own or maybe Boxrec. Two outlets no one gave a **** about for ratings especially back then. So, everwhere you went would say WBA - Klitschko. Not so much Povetkin.
Franchise was ****** because they want to have their cake and eat it. The only place a Franchise champion is rated instead of a WBC champion outside of the WBC is where there is no WBC champion. The confusion is the bodies faults.
One can't say Haney isn't a real WBC champion, he's the only LW WBC champion recognized by all bodies. No official body claims Haney is anything but WBC champion, one body claims there's a WBC champion above him and even with their belts the other bodies refuse to acknowledge anyone but Haney was WBC champion.
Conversely
Juan down at Super Fly is the only WBC champion, period, everyone recognizes him and even though that happened when the WBC was vacant, it is still recognized. Jaun is the only WBC champion at SF and he's a Franchise.
So in one division you have the WBC normie being put OVER the WBC F regardless of the WBC's own stance.
In the other division you have the WBCF enjoying universal recognition as the WBC champion but there wasn't a WBC champion to compete with him.
Come on ppl,why won't anyone explain why they consider super champs THE champ but not Franchise champs? Speak now or forever hold your peace about Kambosos,Teo not being undisputed & Haney being the real champ
Don't duck me duns
Because the wbc franchise belt doesnt exist in every weight class. That equals bullsh#t title.
How can it be a real title if only 2 weight classes have that title?
Plus no sanctioning body acknowledges the franchise title except the wbc. Wba, wbo, ibf dont acknowledge it as a real belt so why should we?
WBC Franchise world champion Juan Estrada is listed as WBC champion.
Also, the IBF only allows their title to be unified with the highest title of another organization. The IBF does allow their title to be unified with the Franchise world title, which means they view it as the WBC's top title.
