additionally, the finale was in atlantic city iirc. i know you guys aren't experts on us geography and that's fine, but this country is giant and those two places are on opposite sides of it. it's around 3000 miles away from ward's "hometown." six hours on a plane, literally days by car. nottingham is actually only about 500 miles further away from AC than oakland is. if you traveled that far in the other direction you'd be in asia, for a little more perspective.
I live in the US. Are you really trying to act like NJ is a neutral site? Come on man. It's in the US. I think it wasn't as much of a home field advantage for Ward, and the scorecards bore that out. They were closer than they would have been in Oakland. The right man won that night. It was a 7-5 type of fight. But if Ward ever traveled in his career, he would have had to deal with a more neutral ref, more neutral judges, and a more hostile crowd than he was used to. In large degree in all 3 areas.

Kessler was the 1 seed. He shouldn't have had to fight the 8 seed in the 8 seed's hometown. If you're just a boxing fan, we should all agree on that one.

I think they both said a lot of stuff that made you say 'wait, what' - but yes Floyd was more of a headline getter with his actions outside the ring. And was more of a trash talker. I found Ward more polarizing tbh though. He seemed to be more full of sh.it than Floyd was.

I watched the fights. I saw two clean, clear GGG wins. That's my view on the fights. GGG was the better man, Canelo paid him well for his belts and the 'win' and 'draw'.

Co-signing every official result in a fight is a really dumb thing to do, but do you man.
I saw the fights and Canelo won, even stood in front of him the 2nd fight and beat him..I WATCHED THE FIGHTS..not co-signing anything..your opinion is not official nor any better then mines..so stop trying to pass yours off like it is a fact when it is just..AN OPINION

Yeah I just don't really think you're a very objective analyst. But thanks for your 2 cents.

Hey man, if you can really convince yourself Canelo didn't lose both those fights, good for you lol. Sometimes the guy you like loses, it's OK.

Like I said, 5% of fights are 'either way, 50/50' type of fights. Those 2 fights weren't. Canelo just got outworked by GGG. What I saw bears that out, as do the numbers. Just how it was.

If you guys want to pretend Canelo won, I don't care. I knew GGG needed to completely dominate or stop Canelo to win so I wasn't even surprised or bothered on the nights when they gave Canelo the draw and win.

That's boxing. But yeah GGG was the better man those nights. He's just a better fighter than Canelo. No shame in that though, GGG is a great one. Jab, power, workrate, hard to hurt. He's a tough matchup for anyone really.

                    NJ is not Oakland.

Kessler and Ward both fought the same % of super six bouts at home and abroad.

if your maths is competent, we all agree on that for sure.

But I would concede that it would have been game for Ward to travel just once in the tournie.

Huh? Kessler had 2 fights in the Super Six. One in Oakland, and one at home in Denmark.

Ward had 5 fights. 3 In Oakland, 1 more in California against a German, and the final one in New Jersey against an Englishman.

                      Just stop talking.
