Why’s Wilder getting praised for the savage beating he took?

A trainer won't fix his punch resistance.

He gets hit with 1 solid punch and he goes twitchy. His chin isn't Amir Khan bad but he's close.

Can't get finished by smaller guys, and then rocked repeatedly by another not known for being a puncher.

AJ got knocked down by the guy who Fury played with almost 2 years earlier. Stop it already with AJ, he won't come close to beating Fury. Guy lost to a short fat guy who he was supposed to walk through and then to a cruiserweight.

I can sort of see it from both sides, the trilogy was undoubtedly a great fight, Wilder showed immense heart and determination, not to mention damn near winning it in the forth, so for those reasons he does deserve praise.

But it is also not unreasonable to say that in some ways Fury's performance was actually not that good in the third fight, it looked to me like maybe his preparation wasn't great, I don't think his timing and tactics were anywhere as effective as in the second, not sure if it was stamina issues or tactics but Wilder looked ready to be finished rounds earlier and Fury couldn't get it done. At times it looked like the only thing holding Wilder up was Fury's clinching. Fury himself said it wasn't his best camp etc.

So the narrative that this Wilder beats any fighter not named Tyson Fury might be true, it also might be true that a dialled in Fury ends that in the forth without going life and death.

Its basically the same issue Wilder has had forever, its hard to know how good is he really when he's beaten few good fighters and lost 3 times against his only top tier opponent.

Who knows, maybe now without the belt if he keeps fighting we'll actually find out a little more if he faces Ruiz/Whyte/Joshua/Usyk/Joice/Parker types.

Isn't that leaving it all in the ring?

Or do you mean he didn't take a savage beating and get knocked out?

Is that what makes a top fighter?

Leaving it all in the ring means doing everything possible to win, including risks not normally taken, and willing to go out on your shield.

If you have poor conditioning and are gassed after 2 rounds, you didn't leave it all in the ring boyo.

I understand Americans need a HW in the mix but Wilder has always been a bum with exaggerated power. And everything got exposed by Fury who’s also a fraud to an extent.

Just pump the brakes with the madness and let these two take on the top contenders like AJ has done throughout his career to see how good they’re.

                Wilder vs Ruiz
                Fury vs Whyte
                Wilder vs Helenius
                Fury vs Hunter

I want to see these fights next year pending what happens between AJ and Usyk
the bigger question is why Tyson Fury is being praised for beating a bum who was elevated to;elite status based on hype/narrative despite not fighting anyone got exposed 3 times and beaten to a pulp by the only decent boxer he has ever faced

They'd exactly what happened to Wilder. Was dead on his feet from the 3rd on. Landed a punch in the 4th but didn't have the energy to follow it up. Then got beaten to a pulp.

Joshua made a fight of it up to about Round 10, when he simply had nothing left against a man who had put forward an exceptional performance.

I'm still not sure why being knocked the fk out (that's what going out on your shield means?) it's more laudible than being outpointed by the better man on the night.
