The way I’d compare them is I think Leonard definitely has the defensive skills to outbox a fighter like Pacquiao, Canelo or De La Hoya on the back foot.

Whilst I don’t think Floyd has the offensive skills to beat a Hearns or Benitez on the front foot.

It’s obviously subjective, but SRR and SRL are the two most complete fighters ever IMO.

Floyd goes on a short list regarding skills. You can argue all day about who was more skilled, but basically fighters like Leonard, Duran, Benitez, I would add Sweet Pea...and Mayweather were very skilled fighters on a technical level. Duran's skills applied differently but were there on that level... Just like Hank Armstrong was very skilled, though it was not as obvious as with Ray Robinson.

As a complete fighter Floyd simply did not challenge himself. His best work imo was around 125 or so. floyd never really fought a fellow ATG at prime. But when we measure tehcnical skills, Mayweather was in the apex of fighters.

Grandpa bernard mentioned "Ali" as not being as skilled... Well, technically according to the design of boxing technique this is true... Roy's another one. But these type fighters were marvels because they could get away with stuff most fighters could not because of outstanding athletic attributes.

Nope! Ali's intangibles just were through the roof but definitely not as skilled as Floyd. Now, can the argument be made for more talented? I think that's a better question.

I would have left it at Hearns but I think this is an interesting point.

The thing is Ray would have to lose to fight like that while Floyd would never stray from that style above 140.

I think the hardest thing to pinpoint about Floyd is his prime. For most of the other greats, their prime is easily identifiable but due to Floyd's sustained excellence over a long period of time, it almost comes down to the version you prefer versus the clearly better version. I think you can obviously leave out anything post Canelo.

Beating a prime Castillo is that guy even a 1st Ballot Hall of Famer.

Yeah because you know I am telling the truth you can't dispute nothing said.

If Floyd would have just beat the best guys in their prime it would be no questions asked.

You sitting here talking like Floyd making prime Jose Luis Castillo, swing and miss, is some miraculous feat.
