AJ is smoothest and most fluid boxer his size in boxing history. He only looks stiff when he's hurt and tired. Amazing footspeed for his size and the most versatile puncher in both cruiser and heavy weight division. Outside of the Ruiz mishap which was more due to Hearn's greed - AJ is the most underrated boxer alive.

AJ is nowhere near Mike in terms of ability, accolades, resume etc. It’s not even close mate.
If you place it at Tyson's prime then you're probably right, except for resume which is definitely close unless you just overrate the second tier 90s fighters.

But Tyson's prime was so short. I wouldn't judge many fighters on their faded years, but his faded years came when he should have still been prime.

Wlad was still a very dangerous fighter even at 40 if you didn’t have the IQ to nullify him, as AJ found out.

Indeed, you can pick holes in anyones resume, but I think it’s fair to say that AJ never beat long reigning champs for any belts which Fury did, and the majority of AJ’s best names are 40. That’s not knocking AJ, he’s got some good wins but I think his resume looks far better on the surface than it really is, when you look at it properly.

Fury beat the two longest reigning HW champs of modern times, definitely nothing to be sniffed at. No matter what you think of Wlad or Wilder, plenty of fighters had a chance to take their belts and couldn’t. As AJ found out with Ruiz, it does not take a special fighter to take your belts, just a decent fighter on a good night, so obviously Wilder and Wlad were doing something right.
        - - Yo, Birth of a Bambi-

Whyte, Martin, Parker, and Fat Andy in their 20s, Braezeale 30, and all for belts. Save for Wlad, Povetkin, Takam, Pulev, Molina were also in their 30s.

And highly ranked, and none but Wlad ever fought Fury who needed one of the most notorious steroids in the pharma to beat him and ducked the rematch. Deyonce even worse fighting Ortiz who was released by Hearns for nonperformance to expected standards. Took him 9 rds to dispose of Molina in front of a half dozen fans in LAwhereas AJ popped him out in 3 in front of tens of thousands of fans.

I have never seen Mike Tyson on the ropes like 1980 Ali like that. And, they never rang the bell for Tyson 10 seconds earlier like bodybuilder. Bodybuilder is untalented, unskilled PR machine. Tyson is overrated and his resume is mediocre but he had at least talent.

The late 80’s era was so much stronger than nowadays man. Tyson’s run from 86 to 89 was super impressive. I’m not even one of those massive Tyson fans either, I think many overrate him based on how good he could have been. Regardless though Berbick, Bonecrusher Smith, Thomas, Tucker, Biggs, Holmes, Tubbs, Bruno, Spinks. Pretty much every one of those guys won a World Heavyweight title. The only guy who didn’t was Biggs who was Olympic Champion in 84. AJ’s resume ain’t nowhere close to that.

Most of those names are C-tier and maybe a couple B-tier. Nostalgia blinds you from reality. In fact, the 80s were **** on following the 70s "golden era", so you are rewriting history.

Analyse how Tyson struggled against 6'3 230 lbs Buster Douglas*. He faced a HW who was not intimidated of him and could tie him up/outmuscle on the inside. Plus, Douglas utilised lateral movement and a long jab to walk Tyson onto uppercuts.

AJ is terrible on the inside. But he could definitely do the latter while being far more athletic and powerful than Douglas.

*This was in Tyson's athletic prime. Yes, he was distracted and underestimated the opponent, but he still struggled against those attributes in general.

Tygrrl gonna be in the HOF wif his Ring title defense record of 6 yrs the Ring champ wif one measly title defense against the low hanging fruit he already dominated.

Aj beats fury and wilder.....but then again it depends on which aj.

However beating usyk now is a big ask. That guy is special.
                      fury is overrated.
