How can a guy be considered an ATG without an ATG win ?
Usyk would be just as successful (if not more) as Mike was, but no one here thinks he's an ATG.

    Mike's resume is hysterical.
    When he wins, he's prime.
    When he loses, he's shot.

Seriously, imagine what a prime late 80’s Tyson does to C level Andy Ruiz Jr.

Behave yourself Nonce Em this is a ****** thread even by your standards.
Andy would have swept up everyone Mike beat.
      Mike's resume was not difficult.

Tokyo Douglas might have done. Tokyo Tyson wasn't much of a matchup for anyone.

Joshua might be stiff, but he's stiff and 6'6. Tyson was stiff, slow, out of shape and 5'11.

The fact that fight was such an upset means that people don't talk about how dominant Douglas was. He was so much better than Tyson.

I would say Tubbs, Bruno, Berbick and Carl Williams were better than Povetkin, Parker, Whyte, Ruiz, Pulev too and Tyson took em all out inside of 5 rounds.
Inside of five rounds doesn't really mean anything. That was Tyson's style. Ranking those guys above the fighters on AJ's resume is pretty subjective... they're all in the titlist to fringe contender range.

As for Holmes v Wlad, Holmes was really retired. Like properly retired and making a comeback. Wlad not fighting on afterwards doesn't mean that he couldn't have done so... after all he was ranked as the second best heavyweight in the world after the Joshua fight.

I think it's close. People just don't like to accept that if AJ were to beat Usyk... he's right in the conversation.

Did someone earlier really say he's not in the top 5 of his era?

Mike is so overrated it's hysterical.
He is the Kanye West of boxing.

Fans fell in love with his no socks rushing to the ring shtick.
Didn't ever beat anyone special (Mike fought and beat the worst version of Holmes).

AJ has an uphill battle for sure but if he does manage to beat Usyk the perception of him will change once again to a very good heavyweight who is prone to have off nights.

AJ will have to really dominate Usyk like he did Andy.
                  Simply winning isn't enough.

Absolute nonsense. Beating Usyk would be a great achievement.

It doesn't matter how you win titles. It's not like he's trying to earn a shot at someone.

Winning close leaves room for ?'s
Sry but the stakes are high and a close win won't do it.
