Catchweight has been around for a long time. And Fighters have been fighting for titles at Catchweight throughout the years. What Cotto and Manny are doing is in no way beyond history. Its been done before Its not uncommon for a fighter to challenge a bigger fighter in a a higher weight class for his title at a agreed upon weight in an higher class! Id like to see Cotto Man up and say **** the title and fight . Not this crybaby bull **** he is doing now. If you can beat Manny the title aint gonna matter. Fight goddamn it...I would give Cotto all respect and wouldnt be ragging on him as much.

Just like you I really want to see the fight made because of the style of these two fighters it should be a great match-up. Right now is a pick-um but the nonsense politics might hold it. I rather have Pac win the title at the 147 limit so the nay sayers won't have nothing to say if he wins.

From 141-147, is Welterweight unless it is being scheduled as a catchweight bout. This fight is being scheduled as a Welterweight bout therefore the WBO title should be at stake. 147 is just the WW limit, not the only weight that WW bouts should be held on.

Plus it's under WBO rules to have its' titles at stake when the bout is anywhere under it's limit or on the limit. If Cotto does not want the title to be at stake then he should fight Manny at 140 Pounds(JWW) where the Welterweight WBO has no business at. Or just vacate the title and stop bitching about vacating it. You either follow the rules or give up the title.

That's not the point. Cotto would fight for the title at 147lbs. Pacquiao does not want to fight at that weight. Cotto agreed to fight at 145lbs., with no title on the line. Pacquiao wants the title to be on the line. Cotto won the belt at 147lbs. Pacquiao needs to move up if he wants the belt. PERIOD.

I agree completely. If the fight limit isnt at 140 and its not at 147 then its a catch weight period. All this politicin is BS. You want the title Pac let the limit be 147. Thats where every boxer before you had to fight at to get that 147 lb title. Its only right.
