So.....What if in a few days we get word that Nate was treated and released, and there was no cut inside the eye or damage to his retina?

I'm not saying the doctor doesn't know what he's talking about ; he's clearly much more qualified than I am to speak about this.

But what if when he said that there was blood in Campbell's eye, he meant that there was on his eye, that probably dripped inside his lids from the cut?

Blood inside the eye, not running into the eye.
Wouldn't that be more likely from a punch then the headbutt then? I mean I can understand the eyebrow, but if there is a punch underneath, then couldn't a punch caused him to not see. When being attacked with multiple punches and a flurry like that, even if he was blocking most of them a punch could have still not made him see.

Do you have a picture of the cut btw?

Maybe Campbell has myopia and accidentally thought the butt is what caused the spots.

Things like Nate rolling away in the clinches. It doesn't look like much, but hes checking Bradley balance just enough that he has to tense his core to keep from falling off balance. Nate on the other hand, is able to rest because he is using his weight to do the work.

It doesn't look like much, but when your core is tense, you can't catch your breath as well, and that really takes its toll over the course of a fight. Its how fighters like Bernard Hopkins and James Toney manage to level the playing field. They take away their opponents chief advantage. Endurance.

The things like little taps too. Nate does it with his glove, Nard does it with his head, same effect. Makes you tense up.

The only difference between a fighter with great stamina and mediocre stamina is how tense they are throughout the course of a fight. Look at Jermaine Taylor and Oscar de La Hoya for example.

They both fight tense, and they both have stamina issues around the 8th round. Thats what body work does, thats what harassing people in the clinches does, it causes you to fight tense, and tire early.

Its something you would never pick up unless you have had it done to you.
          This post is bow-worthy

I hope people take this insight with them for future considerations.

I'm saying that when Campbell got hurt in the last 20 seconds, it was from a punch (that could have still regardless without the butt). Bradley really jumped on him at the end of the round and that was because of a punch.

Then that would have the same effect would it not? The doctor would have determined Nate was unable to see due to obstructed vision.

The broadcast said the doctor saw blood behind his eye, so it is fairly clear that they were trying to describe blood in the ocular cavity without the common connotation of blood dripping into the eye.

That description with Nate describing spots, which is the textbook symptom of a torn or detached retina.

And that point is that had Campbell not been distracted by incompetent reffing, and a nonfunctional eye, the punch never would have landed.

I want someone to explain to me how Nate was in the fight, when he most likely didn't win around in the fight and was getting out flurried and out worked on the ropes even before the cut incident happened. IMO Bradley was boxing circles around him, so Nate wanted to save his career so he found a way out and HOPED it was ruled a NC. Cotto was cut against Clottey even worse, and not even for a second did he think about quitting.

yeah I saw all that and thought he was possibly rocked but I questioned whether or not he was really hurt after he seemed mentally ok in his corner. but yeah understand what your saying.
