that boy is a WW, then let him tip the scales at the WW limit of 147Don't bother arguing, they want their boy to have an advantage. How ironic that Pac camp wants to even the fight but these guys think they need their full size advantage to beat Pac. Funny thing is, if Cotto dropped his drawers for Clottey weigh in, he probably woulda been 145
simple as thatComment

First of all, Cotto was very weak at 140. Now imagine, building yourself to 147 and then having to move back down? You think that is healthy? It is muscle he'll be draining, 145 is good although I'd much perfer 147. You act like having a size advantage is such a big deal, a great fighter like Mayweather has faced MUCH MUCH bigger opponents, Pacquiao is said to be greater (I agree) so why not take on Cotto at 147? Why freaking not?!Don't bother arguing, they want their boy to have an advantage. Give me a source that says he doesnt.where is the source that cotto will struggle to make 145 pounds? Is this simply you're opinion or has cotto or his doctor or his trainer or his promoter or his brother/family/etc. came out publicly and stated that he will struggle to make 145? Same question for 147, who said cotto struggles to make 147? Source please.
How about the fact that he puts on 13 pounds of water in 24 hours...
Do you think its EASY to dehydrate 13 pounds of water?
You must think it's easy.Comment

You're either missing some data or just forgot. Right after Ricky, when pac was looking for an opponents, cotto's people pubically came out and said cotto could make 145. Pac hadn't even mentioned cotto. Bob Arum took that, discussed both sides and the rest is history.
Pac didn't call out cotto. And cotto, as far as I know, didn't call out pac. Cotto's people said he could make 145 (whether or not Cotto discussed that with his people first, I don't know). That was the very first step that made this fight happen.
In addition, this fight has to with money. Cotto is taking the fight because it's the biggest fight he can get. Pac is taking this fight for the same reason. Who is timothy bradley to Pac? Pac is toooooo big at this point to fight guys like that, like it or not that's the truth.Comment

The source is that fact that he walks around at 160-165. Do you honestly believe dropping to 147 is easy for Cotto?where is the source that cotto will struggle to make 145 pounds? Cotto could make 140lbs too at one point... but was he the best fighter he could be?
No, he wasnt... but he still made the weight.Comment

so cotto's belt shouldnt be on the line and if pac wins, he'll be the 143 champ.Comment

That is absurd reed and you know it.
Give me a source that says hopkins struggled to make 160.
Give me a source that says Roy Jones never ****d a female.
etc.
Reed, what the hell man. You know perfectly well putting on 13 pounds over night is perfectly normal in boxing. It's rare when boxers DON"T put on 10+ pounds these days. There are VERY FEW exceptions. Pac and Mayweather are two examples of guys that don't rehydrate much. Bernard Hopkins was another. The reason? They STAY IN SHAPE. Again, I have no sympothy for guys that blow up between fights because that's their choice. No one feels bad for Ricky Hatton that he weighs 200 pounds and has to lose 60 pounds. Why? Because it's his choice to drink beer at the pub all night long. How about the fact that he puts on 13 pounds of water in 24 hours...
