Does he look like ricky hatton?

I have no sympathy for guys who blow up in between fights, that's their choice to live that kind of lifestyle. You cannot fault the other fighter for unhealthy decisions.

A catchweight of 145 is totally fair imo because you must remember, cotto is used to weighing in over 160 pounds on fight night. The idea is maybe if cotto has to shed an extra pound or two rather than weighin in at 162-165 he might come in 158-161. That's pretty damn fair considering pac will weigh in no more than 148 pounds.

I just don't see how losing one extra pound is dumb. It's a big fight for cotto.
Don't bother arguing, they want their boy to have an advantage. How ironic that Pac camp wants to even the fight but these guys think they need their full size advantage to beat Pac. Funny thing is, if Cotto dropped his drawers for Clottey weigh in, he probably woulda been 145

One thing is certain, both Pac & Cotto have a million times more guts than mayweather that's for sure. Both these guys take on the biggest challenges and risk everything in the ring while doing so. Floyd on the hand, uh no.
Pacquiao is gonna win this, I might be rooting for Cotto because of one reason. I don't like tha fact that they're trying to weaken him, the sad part is, I'd pick Pacquiao over Cotto even at 147. So I really don't understand why the 145 (Although 145 isn't a bid deal to me) Yet they're pushing it with 143.

I agree with you on that but it doesn't change the fact that the man would struggle trying to make 145 and it comprimises him. The belts should not be on the line under those terms.

exactly. I'm honestly pretty shocked at some of the backlash pac is getting on this site for a very minor catweight for cotto. After all, Pac is the one fighting the bigger/stronger guy. It's unreal.

Any way you dice it cotto will out weigh pac by at least 10 pounds, so the people crying about the catchweight are pretty ridiculous if you ask me, pac is the one at the disadvantage, not cotto.

theyre the ones going after the WW champ, then they should either *** off and go back to 40 and fight bradley, holt, etc or let cotto weigh in @ 47

if it wasnt such a big deal, the fight wouldve been signed already. obviously team pac is trying to put pacquiao in with the weakest version of cotto possible

I know damn well why he fights at 147, its a weight he can make comfortably. If it was truly that difficult, he wouldn't be too small for 154 considering how good of a fighter he is.

So he's almost too big for 147, but too small for 154...but its fine for Manny to move up from 135/140 to 147? Maybe your right and Cotto should just fight another WW instead of looking for a payday.

where is the source that cotto will struggle to make 145 pounds? Is this simply you're opinion or has cotto or his doctor or his trainer or his promoter or his brother/family/etc. came out publicly and stated that he will struggle to make 145? Same question for 147, who said cotto struggles to make 147? Source please.
