So now cotto struggles to make 147?? Give me a break, the guy weighed in at 146 against Clottey.

He struggled to make 140. If he truly is struggling to make 147 then I suggest Mr. Cotto starts living a healthier lifestyle because there is no reason with his frame he should struggle to make 147 unless he's partying too much, etc.

i dont like that he's being forced to weigh in @ no more than '45, which now sounds like greedy ass roach is trying to con cotto down to '43 and put pacquiao in with a weight drained fighter. that's too dangerous
        My thoughts exactly.

No one is being forced to do anything. A catch weight is an agreed upon weight when two fighters from different weight classes agree to meet somewhere in the middle. Cotto said he has no problem getting down to 145. That's HIS decision. If he feels its unfair, or he will be too effected by the one single pound difference, then he has the option of saying, No deal.
my thing is if pacquiao is so good and is godly, why doesnt he just let the man come in @ 47? that way he'll say he actually beat the WW champ, not a diminished, drained version of him

and i know cotto has a choice but money will make you do dumb ****

Have you seen Cotto when he is not training? If so, I think you might have a different opinion on this.

If 147 is such a struggle, why's he fighting as a WW?

Pacquiao just moved up to 140. He was fighting at 135 just last year and 130 just prior to that! It's a different scenario if Pac was at 140 like ricky hatton his entire career. Pac is a small guy moving up very rapidly in boxing standards.

A catchweight of 145 is totally fair imo because you must remember, cotto is used to weighing in over 160 pounds on fight night. The idea is maybe if cotto has to shed an extra pound or two rather than weighin in at 162-165 he might come in 158-161. That's pretty damn fair considering pac will weigh in no more than 148 pounds. Any way you dice it cotto will out weigh pac by at least 10 pounds, so the people crying about the catchweight are pretty ridiculous if you ask me, pac is the one at the disadvantage, not cotto.

and i know cotto has a choice but money will make you do dumb ****
I just don't see how losing one extra pound is dumb. It's a big fight for cotto.

because at 154 he would be too small

Good lord. If you really don't know why then you are in bad shape.Let me help you out. The same reason he kept fighting at 140 when it was killing him.
