  • I hope this is done at 147. 145 did not help pac gain an advantage so they should go for the better option legacy wise and set it to 147. So that there will be no * should pac win. Plus, I do believe pac can win it at 147.

    • Pac would easily knock out Cotto even at 154, Roach is just being very protective, probably too protective.

      • WBO really wants this to get SANCTIONING FEES. It is all about money. A big fight like this, even 1% is more than a hundred thousand bucks.

Sulaiman should really be pissed. Watch how IBF will sanction this too.

i think it puts cotto at a slight disadvantage and isnt fair to the other top fighters at welter (like mosley, clottey, berto; etc.) who have put in the work at that weight.

seems like pacman is just getting a very nice deal in his favor...at a lower weight than the limit of 147...getting possibly bumped up to no. 1 contender without ever fighting any of the guys he's passing up in the rankings and possibly in position to win a title.

just seems a bit unfair. i also assume hes getting more money than cotto?
That's what you get when you're the P4P and PPV king. He worked hard for it that's why he gets these advantages. Cotto is after the money and fame that's why he is willing to accept the disadvantages. So is Mosley and everybody else except PBF. Pacquiao has the right for all these until somebody dethrones him.

If you do this for Pac then any other fighter can't be denied of such demands in the future.. this can take a huge toll on BOXING. If Pac wants to be a WELTER WEIGHT champion!! then he needs to fight (or allow his opponent) to perform at the WW LIMIT!!! Obviously if you make Cotto smaller he won't be as strong and Pac will benefit. If I was Cotto I would improve my stance financially for the bout considering the fact that I now have to add things to the table like: My $, my weight, my belt, my lifesavings, real estate, cars, wife, kids.... Maybe they should also make Miguel fight with one hand behind his back too... THAT WOULD DO IT!!!! PERFECT!!! And people badmouth $mayweather....atleast Floyd fought people at their weight class or at the weight class limit....
Pacquiao didn't start the catchweight. He didn't demanded title belts. Not any other fighter can make demands. Only top fighters. Leonard, Chavez, De La Hoya.
At least Pacquiao is demanding it on a bigger guy. Floyd demanded Hatton to go up to 147. Now he is demanding JMM to go up to 147 from 135.
Now tell me not to lose my respect to Floyd.

Good **** Don Miguel, I think RingDynasty is trying to twist facts from reality.

He doesn`t have to fight or clean out more than 50 fighters in each division, right?
Marquez was a stylistic problem, in a fight many feel he lost. But what im saying is that Armstrong cleaned out and fought the absolute best from each division, and it would take pac cleaning out entire divisions from 140 to also 147 to make that happen. This would mean taking fights that arent just big money makers and lucrative bank-account wise. Its not exactly easy to do, thats why armstrong is where he is. Hatton and Marquez are pacs most credible wins since moving up, but he would have to continue with wins over guys like cotto, mayweather, and a few more guys from either 140 or 147. There is a reason its so hard to draw comparison to guys from the past, like i told you, pac is just not there yet.

                • On a side note, which fight will do more PPV buys? Pac-Cotto, or Mayweather-Marquez? This will go a long way in determining who will have the leverage in the Pacquio-Mayweather negotiations if they both win. My gut says Pacquio-Cotto does better than Mayweather-Marquez.

All of them lineal champion when Pacquiao took their belt from them. Its not Pacquiao's falt if their style is perfect for him. He fought Marquez eventhough his style is the ******nite to his style. Its not handpicking when you're fighting a bigger boxer
That isnt the point. Its not just a matter of moving up and grabbing belts, its also DOMINATING those divisions. These recent fights are all basically mega fights, which is good for him, but that doesnt mean i can just look at his resume, then look at robinsons, or alis resume, or armstrongs, or joe louis resume and say "yea, pac is right there" because it just isnt true.

Yes, after all these years, i need to yield to posters of inferior ring knowledge, comprehension and intelligence, youre right. Because lord knows, you are in the position to comment on all time greats, and their resumes, thus its important to listen to barracuda when he tells another poster to fall back.

                      GTFO with that.
