Why do people talk about height so much? It means nothing to me. Its the weight that matters. Look at Mike Tyson and Paul Williams. Clottey & Mosley are much bigger then him. I mean look at Clottey vs Chico. Who's taller? Look at Celestine. The height doesnt matter

you and i both know nothing will change.

EVERY single sport that has a weight class whether it be wrestling , weightlifting , boxing , judo......whatever , people cut weight.

that's just the way it is. it will never change. you can't enforce it.

people should fight in the weight class they feel the most comfortable in.

if floyd doesn't like being outweighed by 10-20 lbs. he shouldn't be in that division where most opponents are 10-20 lbs. over him.

if he wants to stay in that division don't ask some guy to come up 2 divisions just because you don't want to fight guys in your division that do outweigh you by 10-20 lbs.

simple fact. floyd wants an easy win. the end.
We can go back to same day weigh-ins. They had it before...no?

I'm not totally against fighters blowing up in weight and out-weighing their opponent by 15+ pounds. It does give us great KO's like Gatti-Gamache and can end someone's career in spectacular fashion.

After all, I guess none should complain since the Heavyweights don't complain. Chris Byrd didn't complain. So why are we talking about the weight issue with JMM and Floyd?

he's light in the ass , man.

floyd is a small welter. so is judah. even cotto is a small welter though he's thicker than both.

for me his frame is that of a big lightweight or a good size super lightweight.

135-140 is what his frame is best suited for imo.

Height isn't the only aspect of size my brother.

Yep. Judah belongs at 140, Cotto can stay at 147, but he's not big enough to move up any more. Floyd belongs at 140.

135-140 might be best suited for him but with age you grow into other weightclasses. I know he moved up to 147 to chase money fights but I'm sure some of it was because of the weight.

Every1 can have their opinions tho. As far as today's welterweights go Floyd isn't small to me.

tell me. how would you enforce it?

same day weigh in. so you want guys to be dehydrated even more at fight time?

                  it's unenforceable.

the rule says make weight at the weigh in. that's what they do.
YES. Let them be dehydrated; it's on them to come in healthy. If they lose by KO, that's on them. If they die, well, people die in today's boxing. Maybe another fighter can use the dead guy as an example of what not to do and come in healthy himself to give himself the best chance to win. If he doesn't want to be healthy...well...another body-bag is waiting.

OK...a little to much but I've gone over my suggestions in my thread with the addition of adding on a Doctor to check the fighters on fight day to see that they are fit to go. If they are not, they get suspended.
Many things I listed on my thread like putting a cap on how much they can game by fight-time.

So let them but they have to show up by fight-time at the actual division weight or my other suggestion of putting a cap on how much they can gain...as well as getting a physical (from a Doctor) on fight day.

                      i disagree.

i'd give them more days in between the weigh in and the fight than less.

                      that's me though.

i know people will always try to fight in the lowest division they can to gain an advantage. they'll do it no matter the health concerns.

better to make it safe for them.
