  • I'm sure they'll come to an agreement at a catch weight.

Marquez said that Pacquiao is avoiding him. I disagree. Pacquiao has a fight with Hatton first of all, and who can blame him for taking that. Pacquiao has stated a few times that he would fight Marquez, and he said that a thrid fight would determine who is greater once and for all.

So what, PBF moved up and fought Oscar at 154 and he actually weighed
160 come fight night and Floyd weighed 148/9 and was/is 5'8" and Oscar was/is 5'10". JMM/PBF are closer to each other in size than Oscar/Floyd
      and Oscar/Pac.

      • personally i don't think jmm has the chance to beat floyd at whatever "reasonable" weight they can agree on. but my salute to jmm for calling out floyd, though it was due primarily to his frustration of not getting the 3rd dance with manny. whatever the case may be, jmm has a 50-50 chance of beating floyd if and when they affix their sigs on the dotted lines.

i sincerely hope that jmm will pull this through...........a true Mexican warrior with heart of a lion!

FLoyd can make 147 with ease, hes not that big of a guy and he trains like an animal. Its called a "catch weight" for a reason. Both fighters have to sacrifice something.

Mayweather will keep his speed but sacrifice some power and ability to take shots, Juan Manuel Marquez will sacrifice some speed and power. So all you FMJ fans need to just stop. Even at 140lbs FMJ has the big edge in speed and power.

Marquez is a small guy , Floyd even takes the height and reach. He will end up looking huge against JMM.

But this will be the first time Floyd will fight an opponent who has just as much ring smarts and has arguably the most heart and determination.

          • Why is this even up for discussion Mayweather by 6th KO. If this guy couldnt handle PAC's punches at 130, what do you think mayweather will do to this guy lets be serious. I want to see Mayweather vs Mosley.

            • God - could you all imagine a JMM win over floyd, while not probable, possible.

JMM would own the boxing world.

Won't happen though, unless floyd agrees to 140-142.

                "to each his own".....
you shouldn't be comparing the odlh-mp fyt against would be jmm-fmw fyt. there are certain intangibles tha are factored into the match. i am a big manny fan but i admit that manny's win over oscar is not that special, given the fact that freddie knows oscar very well come fyt tym. now floyd will be very much different against jmm. u got my drift? floyd is still in his prime, much bigger and skillful than jmm (and manny and 'that' oscar). floyd is way off jmm's abilities,...but i hope jmm will prevail!

I agree. No matter how people view this fight, it should be an interesting
match up being that Floyd is coming back from a next to 2 year lay off.
Ain't like he's coming back and fighting a guy like Jennings or Mora for his
first fight back but the heart and determination of JMM.

                    • i just laugh at mayweather even more now,his fans always say he's not a natural welter(thats why he never fought cotto, cintron, tony),but he doesn't want to fight jmm at 140,it doesn't make sense, what weight is he? if he doesn't want to fight at 140,he's telling me he's a welter, then fight welters, fight cotto, fight berto,i think mayweather just cafefully chooses his opponents, berinstein said marquez as of right now weighs 145,so thats why he won't do it at that weight, floyd would be way to heavy for marquez at that weight,i guess they thought floyd would want to fight at jr welter, and even so,i think jmm is too small.
