At the end of the day like I stated before. There are no top welterweights for Floyd to fight in July: Berto, Cotto, Margarito, Clottey, and Cintron are not available for a July fight.... Mosley has already talked to Floyd about a fight maybe at the end of the year or the beginning of next. So who else at 140-147 would you like Mayweather to fight? What about the the #2 p4p fight in the world and tactical genius Juan Manual Marquez. Dont say Calazzo or Quintana because HELL NO I wouldnt rather see Mayweather fight one of those two instead of Marquez... Plus, It's a win-win situation no matter what's outcome; If Floyd wins then we'll finally probably get the Mayweather-Pacquio fight, If Marquez wins then we'll finally get the Marquez-Pacquio 3... So now, where your retorical question? Go drink some haterade
did you really think that floyd retired from boxing for good? he retired and picked the best moment to come back possible. yeah, you said it, EVERY top welter is busy in july, so what does floyd do? he comes back in july for that sole reason, because there's a valid excuse NOT to fight anyone good from his weight. hmmm what are the other options... fight a great little guy that is currently a natural 130 pounder that visibly looked worse at 135 and struggled and was wobbled to hell by diaz, a light fisted fighter.
conclusion: marquez struggles against a 135 pounder with light fists. he is the #2 p4p boxer but a 130 chasing a guy that moved to 140. what would floyd do? obviously fight the guy at 147 to take away that little speed and power that let him KO diaz in a fight he was losing
we all know that diaz isn't on floyd's level. we also know that marquez has won both of his fights on 135, but he struggled against an old casamayor and a young guy that's good but doesn't hit hard. floyd would win by murder on 147 and could also do the same on 140, BUT he's not willing to take any risks. that's the purpose of a tune up fight: win without risking a loss. if he wants a tune up at 147, fight a guy of 147 that's not on your level instead of a great little guy
see the little faults in your logic? of course everyone has a fight now. that's exactly why floyd will come back in july
EDIT: who is calazzo?

Floyd is a caculated money maker sorta like 50 cent: The only knock on Floyd i have is how he makes his money, and how he doesnt take the fans opinions into consideration. He knows Mosley wants him and th year retirment aint an excuse both have went more then a year off in there career so i dont look as this any different for Floyd. Marquez is defintely a worthy opponent but Floyd has to know weight is will be a issue win or lose. Floyd has to step up after this and not only make the big money fights, but the fights that define careers and well he hasnt done that yet. However a Marquez fight is defintely a stepping stone but unless he fights Cotto or Mosely he is just a lame business man who boxes, he needs to get on his horse at ride with the big dogs after this ****

Who and the hell else would you rather see him tune-up against then at welter? Stop your crying and stop your bitching and just enjoy the fighta
btw, you know what starting off slow against floyd means, right?
i'd see him against ANY good welter out there. quintana, collazo, berto (who has his previous belt) are far riskier opponents than marquez (except for berto maybe). if you want to establish yourself at 147, you fight 147 boxers, not lightweights. of course, we're talking about mayflower here, so he's making what everybody expected, even you (i suppose that's why you didn't argue anything else about my post)

And if he wanted to fight at a catchweight, let's say 143, the haters would ***** that he should be fighting JMM at 140. And if he wanted to fight JMM at 140, the haters would ***** that he should be fighting at 135. etc. etc.
Like I said, the haters just want to see him lose, period.

144 is a more reasonable weight for this 2 boring to watch fighters to meet in the ring....
I'm going for Mayrunner to win this match againts sore-loser Marquez for a future bout with Pacquiao. Just hope Mar"tears" doesn't get to knock the mouth out of Mayrunner......coz that's reserved for PACQUIAO!!!
