I know you don't. In fact, I know you know your ****. But I remember us fans discussing it back then, not the promoters. And as I pointed out, the timeline proves that false. Unless Oscar was planning to return to junior welter...which I doubt.

If I remember correctly, Tszyu was going to move up to 147 for DLH, can't find a source online though.

He should because he had to shed 1&1/2 pounds to make 140 for the Hatton fight + a fight with DLH would have suited more with Tszyu being able to box & wouldn't hook with DLH it would be interesting pity they never got it on.

The point is that an offer was out there to get Mayweather and Tszyu together. Both were unsigned at the time. Tszyu expressed an interest. Mayweather signed to fight Gatti. Fact.

I point to the article as evidence that Tszyu wanted Mayweather in the period before Tszyu signed to fight Hatton. In fact the article specifically states that Tszyu denied there being a deal to fight Hatton. Why? Because he wanted Mayweather and Gatti, and there was an offer out there to make it happen.

Shame Tszyu & Mayweather didn't get it on they were the best 140 pounders going at that tiem but id imagine Frank Warren made Tszyu an offer he couldn't turn away from Tszyu's thinking maybe beat Hatton & then move on to Gatti & Mayweather & Hatton was the IBF's number -1 contender

It is a shame that Floyd never tried to hook up a fight with Tszyu. It's a real shame because at the time he was at 140, Floyd was beating bums and saying he was the best of all time. The problem is that Tszyu was the unified undisputed champion at 140 at the time. This is a real indictment against Floyd.

There's a thread right now in this forum in which DeLaHoya categorically states: "Floyd is unwilling to take risks. He is afraid to lose." DLH goes on to question Floyd's "heart".
One can point to Tszyu as extremely potent evidence of this.

True but Tszyu may have had the edge on DLH if right was right Tszyu & Mayweather should have got it on & unify the division.
I saw Gatti getting the head boxed off him with all his guts he couldn't do anything against Mayweather he would have shown respect for Tszyu's power & it would be a great boxing match up defensively Floyd JR would try block slip & counter well as Tszyu would try & disguise his shots dropping bombs on Mayweather.
That's the thing the annoys me about the sport i love that when the best don't unify.
