In the lower divisions Oscar was the scorn of hardcore fans. He'd always pick up a title (usually against the weak guy in the division) and then run outta there. There was such a huge backlash that he eventually HAD to fight the best at 147. And when he did, he met mixed results. And since then, he's handpicked his way around the sport. Sure I'll fight Hopkins...at 156. Floyd? Move up to junior middle (are u serious??). And he lost both fights BTW.

The sad thing is, we don't even know how much he has left because unlike other fighters, he can just leap into a big fight. But if you notice, he hasn't really looked good against the not-so guys he picked to look good against.(Forbes, Sturm).

So when people say his resume I must ask...who?
You don't think his resume is solid?

    Quartey
    Mayorga
    Vargas
    Chavez
    Whitaker
    Carr
    Hernandez
    Ruelas

There are some very good names there bro. Throw in the fact that he lost very close and highly disputed decisions to Trinidad and Mosley as well as a fairly close fight against Mayweather and that is an incredible career IMO.

Remember also that almost any fighter's resume can be undermined by situational bull****. Roy Jones, Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, all the modern greats can have it done to them.

Oscar is in the 50-75 range ATGs in my book. Have to see what else he does with the rest of his career.

Those are good NAMES. You know, I can break that down but I think names is what satisfies some of you. And you know what? He's doing it again. Don't forget to shell out your $55 on Oscar vs. another NAME on December 6th.

And two years from now you can add Pac's NAME to the list and say, that's a good list. Of course, we'll leave out the fact that Pac was barely a lightweight who moved up two divisions. Or that Chavez and Whitaker were ancient. That Mayorga was an old pinata. That...you get the point.

He's fought a who's who of fighters and has always been competitive against the best of them. He had two close fights with Mosely, a close fight with Whitaker, Quartey and Mayweather. Destroyed Vargas and was clearly robbed against Tito. Whooped and old legend in Chavez and beat such other notable fighters as Campas, Carr, Mayorga, Rivera, Ruelas, Dorsey, Paez, Gonzales, Casillijo, Leija, Molina and others. Yeah, he belongs on an all time list for sure.

Yeah except each of those guys fought the best in their division and won. At least ONE division. Every last one of them.

How about Oscar? Oh wait, he was competitive with them. He's an ATG for effort

Yup just like Hopkins will fight a blown up Marquez, while ducking Dawson and crying to Calslappy for a rematch. Let's not forget Mayweather, still retired and calling people ***** and calling himself the greatest ever when he hasn't done anything close to SRR/Ali.

I get what you're saying, but this can be done with the resume of just about any fighter in history, especially fighters who aren't even arguable as top 25 all time.

If Mayweather is a *****, what does that make the guy who made him move up in weight, forced his glove and ring selection on him...and still lost?
