Is Oscar De La Hoya an all-time great?

I admit that the one glaring omission from the case for Oscar being an ATG is the lack of a defining "great" win. Having said that he wouldn't be the first ATG lacking this quality. I personally believe that, when examined in total, his accomplishments and resume are strong enough to overcome that omission.
The sad thing is, we don't even know how much he has left because unlike other fighters, he can just leap into a big fight. But if you notice, he hasn't really looked good against the not-so guys he picked to look good against.(Forbes, Sturm).
So when people say his resume I must ask...who?Comment

I agree he's a HOF'er but come on top 75 all time? When you consider he's never been the best in his division it's hard to say he cracks the top 100 all time.Comment

Not sure, I lost respect for him when he signed the contract to fight manny pacquiao. I hope Pacquiao ****s oscar up. Also the fact that Oscar said he wanted winner of Cotto/Margarito... But when Margarito won, he wanted no part of it...Comment

I think he's an ATG when it comes to selling fights so to the mass public then yes they will say he's an ATG. But to fans of the sport who criticize any fighter's career then IMO he has done enough to be an ATG fighter. Look at Leonard as an example, he was the biggest name in the post-Ali years and pre-Tyson years and like DLH he fought the best but Ray beat several ATG's and that's what really separates him from hollywood.Comment
