Funny how people downplay the Whitaker fight but wasn't Whitaker the P4P king at the time he fought Oscar?? LOL

Whitaker was there by default - you know this and I know this. Come on, man - don't try to fool those who don't know better.

In his fight before Oscar, Whitaker was dropped by a decent junior welter TWICE and was well behind when he scored a KO. A guy who Tszyu flattened in five. And before that, Whitaker fought Wilfredo Rivera twice, mainly because more than a few people thought Rivera deserved the decision the first time.

Pernell Whitaker was still a p4p'er on paper but he was finished by then. It began seeping into his performances, maybe after Vasquez. He looked Godawful against Hurtado BTW and didn't even look that good beating Rivera the second time.

Let's be real about **** here.

You're only fooling yourself with the Oscar hate. So is Hopkins a P4P on paper too then?? He's 3/3 in his last 6 fights.

What do you use as a measuring stick to differ an all time great and a hall of famer?

Would there be some sort of cut off point?

I thought we were finished? I'd rather not debate with you anymore - you can't seem to debate Oscar on his own merit - you keep bringing up other fighters and going off tangent. Hopkins has nothing to do with this debate, neither does "hate." I suppose you're in love with Oscar then?

The bottom line is that Oscar has been great for the sport, is a great fighter and will one day walk into the HOF. But ATG? No. And while I've stated my case by using Oscar, you keep trying to defend yours using others. I'd rather not debate if that's what it's going to be. I wanna hear you tell me who Oscar beat that makes him HOF material - not who Bernard beat, or the fact that he's a 10x champ (whatever the **** that means). But you can't, because you know and I know his best win is Fernando Vargas and, in the end, that ain't cutting it. His other best win isn't even clear. And old men won't do it. Thanks for trying.
