I certainly felt Wink won that fight, no doubt.

Like I said.......WHO Are these good-great fighters that you talk about so much?? Has he beaten more world champions than DLH??
If you include 'BO titlist then Hop has beaten 11 champions not bad for a guy that only ever fought in 2 divisions. DLH fought in 6 divisions and beat some weak claimant, Castillejo for example, so can you really say DLH has beaten true champs.

How many guys that could be considered great and prime/close to prime regardless of weight has DLH beaten? Answer that question.

De La Hoya is not done with his career yet, so I'm reserving my judgment to see what else he can accomplish.

Well unless he beats the top guys at ww or at least the best moving up from jr welter then it's difficult to say DLH isn't more than a very good fighter that lost to the best in his era. But when it comes to marketing then DLH is up there with Tyson, Ali, Louis, etc.

DLH has beaten 17 so far. Yes, he's beaten true champions. Who beat better champions, DLH or BHOP???
BHop had advantages @ 160, its like telling Margarito to move up to 160 right now from 147.

Who beat better champions? Clearly Hop since he KO'ed Tito, DLH, Johnson, decisioned Winky, Tarver and Pav. How many many can you say DLH has beaten that come close to Tito, DLH himself or winky as far as greatness and again list those close to prime at least and not the old men JCC and Whitaker.

I always say a W is a W. But regardless of that deLaHoya gave Trinidad a boxing lesson and beat both Quartey and Whitaker. Little bit tough to argue he wasn't the best at 147 for a period (he was also ranked #1 pfp, but not by myself) during one of the welterweight divisions toughest era's.

Now.......you can't really be serious about ranking Carbajal, who I loved to watch fight, ahead of Oscar, are you? One look at who their respective wins and losses come against and its an objective impossibility.

Trust me, Oscar is in the topp 100 fighters all time. Maybe top 75.

A JCC & Whitaker win ****s on a Tarver, Johnson win. You are seriously on a mission to hate DLH ain't you??

                    No it doesn't.

Chavez and Whitaker may be ATGs, but their recent form had been even worse than Tarver's. Tarver wasn't too impressive against Jones in the third fight, but he still won by a wide margin. He clearly beat Johnson in the rematch, and should've won a close fight with Johnson in the first fight IMO, after KOing Jones.

That's better than Chavez squeaking by Kamau by the narrowest of margins, and beating Pink Walker, who made his name by beating an 100 year old Arguello. Whitaker had looked awful in recent fights, arguably losing to Rivera the first time around, and needing to rally in the championship rounds to stop Hurtado.

Not only that, but old Hopkins moved up two weight divisions and completely dominated Tarver. DLH-Whitaker could've gone either way.

At 154 Winky was seen as the best and not Vargas and DLH avoided him and once again Mosley beat DLH making him at most 2nd best probably 3rd is more truthful. Then Floyd moved up to 154 and beat DLH again taking away any claim to be the best at that class. And we all know what happend when DLH tried to prove he was the best mw don't we lol. When has he ever been at the top of his division and actually proved he should be top? Sure TheRing may have ranked him top once or twice but when it came down to it DLH proved time and again in his era he's a notch below the best.
I find it a bit dubious that you would call Tito the best for a highly questionable victory against Oscar, yet call Winky the best at 154 even though he lost a questionable decision to Vargas. Kind of a double standard, don't you think?
