All right, fair enough. Like I have said earlier, I don't see this fight being made. I expect a Joe, B-Hop rematch, before Dawson gets a shot at Zags.

Tarver was past it when Dawson beat him and so was Johnson who many people thought actually beat Dawson!

So tell me this, if Dawson struggles to get past an old Johnson in a fight many thought he had lost, how do people expect Dawson to beat Calzaghe?

I'd love to hear an answer to that one. I'm not an advocate of the 'Triangle Theory' but i think that's a legitamete question.

      I'll give you Adamek though.

Point is, he isn't ready to fight someone of Calzaghe's caliber IMO. He ain't ready.
Calzaghe isn't the physical fighter that Johnson was. Calzaghe against the RJJ and B-Hop was the bigger fighter, this wouldn't be the case against Dawson! Dawson is a big, fast/combination puncher, physical fighter, when did Calzaghe ever face such a fighter?

Again, Calzaghe ain't gonna have it easy with this kid the way he has had his way with the two grandpa's. Calzaghe is good, but he looked good against two ancient fighters, man. wake up.

RJJ had been beaten worse by Johnson and Tarver. All Calzaghe could manage was cut RJJ.

I suppose RJJ was just a blown up Junior Middleweight when Calzaghe fought him?

Joe Calzaghe is 36 years old. Roy Jones is 39 years old. Who's ancient?

Calzaghe went up in weight to fight LHW divisions #1 guy - Bernard Hopkins.

Saying Calzaghe was the bigger man in both fights is a poor mans excuse.

Hopkins is old but is still P4P one of the best fighters out there! That win against Pavlik proved that.

B-HOP became the #1 guy by beating a Tarver that was coming off from filming Rocky Balboa. Tarver couldn't do jack **** against Dawson.

Anyway, enough of this fighter beat that guy and that fighter beat this guy. A Dawson - B*tch Slapper matchup is an interesting one, and in no way will look anything like any of Calzaghe's recent fights.

I also heard them saying that Calzaghes slapping punches wouldn't do **** to dawson, if I remember correctly glen johnsons punches looked like slaps but they looked like they had a pretty hard effect on dawson. Plus, I'm pretty sure johnson doesn't throw as many punches as Calzaghe.
Johnson's punches were hard and accurate, and he never slapped in his entire career. He was countering Dawson and taking advantage of his aggressiveness, and was turning over on his punches. He has power.

Does anyone actually argue with this?

I'd be intrigued because if they don't how does Dawson beat him?

If they do, how exactly is Dawson better in said area?
No offense but i hope that's not how you all analyze fights, because its just ridiculous. We can go through millions of matches where fighters have all of the advantage, but still end up losing because their best weapons were taken away from them and neutralized. I also disagree about Calzaghe being faster than Dawson. If Dawson punched with no power the way Calzaghe did, then he would look unreal. Dawson is the better boxer and natural bigger, on top of having the better success at fighting in a tactical boxing matches.

A double standard at its best. Hopkins wasn't past it but Tarver was? Even though Tarver had two titles and Johnson was still on a winning streak and both of them were rated in the top 3 at the time?

I would favour Dawson's handspeed over Joe's. Joe's hands look faster than they are because he is often just throwing half-punch flurries. Dawson does not do this, and I think Chad definately has the faster hands.

I think Dawson could definately win. If I had to pick a winner I would go with Calzaghe but it would be close. Have you seen many of Chad's fights? He is a fast, accurate combination puncher with a great right hand. I think Dawson's style gives anyone problems, including Calzaghe. The main question mark for me is Dawson's stamina. IF he could fight at a high intensity for the full 12 I would favour Dawson, I'm just not sure that he can.

The way you're posting these days is shocking. You make it seem as if Dawson is better in every single department.

Dawson the better boxer? Debatable to say the least.

Calzaghe has more experience and many people will say he has a better chin( which is moot in this fight). I personally don't see him being faster than Dawson, stronger, a better boxer ect. What southpaw has Calzaghe fought? Dawson looks his best at boxing, where as Joe himself even admitted that he likes when his opponents come forward.
