And you're right, Dawson ain't beating the B*tch Slapper, 'cause the b*tch slapper knows that Dawson is gonna hand his @ss on a big platter that Dawson eats his Big Macs on.
I didn't say that the similarities between Lacy and Dawson were boxing ability wise did i?

The similarities am talking about is people hyping up Dawson as the person who can beat Calzaghe just like they hyped up Lacy in 2006. Difference is, well their is no difference Calzaghe would beat Dawson just as bad.

Putting Dawson in with Calzaghe at this stage of Dawson's career would be like throwing a lamb to a wolf! and the repercussions for that type of defeat for Dawson would be hard to come back from just like Lacy found out. Dawson needs to forget about Calzaghe and carry on developing his boxing ability and if he does he could become the future of this sport.

But fighting Calzaghe now?!? No, just no.

Have you even seen Dawson fight? Dawson is NOTHING like Lacy, so you can stop with that. He is 6'3, a southpaw, and is not one dimensional. Plus, he has hand speed to rival anybody at 175.
They are not even close to being the same fighter......

You're missing the point. He is not comparing their fighting skills whatsoever.

Then what the **** was he comparing? Lacy was thrown to the wolves when he fought Zags. Dawson has fought Adamek, Johnson, and Tarver. He is ready.

He is suggesting that they were both similarly hyped up as young black American champions, the futures of American boxing who were going to unlock this awkward British fighter. The problem both have is that Calzaghe is unique and he is not easy to figure out. It takes someone very wily to get a handle on him, someone who has been around the block and seen it all. Otherwise you get overwhelmed by Calzaghe's constant speed and work-rate, his awkwardness and his clowning around, the never-ending thousands of fists in your face. Calzaghe WILL instill his fight on you unless you are the type of fighter who can overturn that, slow him down and make it your fight. Perhaps the wiliest competitor in world boxing of the past 10 years wasnt able to do that fully, only managed it effectively for 3 rounds and although he escaped without taking much punishment, he still fought Calzaghe's fight and lost. Neither Lacy nor Dawson have the experience Hopkins has. That is his comparison.

The fact that all this 'Dawson would beat Calzaghe' Stuff that's going on around here lately is carbon copy of what was being said in 06 with Lacy - Calzaghe.

Tarver was past it when Dawson beat him and so was Johnson who many people thought actually beat Dawson!

So tell me this, if Dawson struggles to get past an old Johnson in a fight many thought he had lost, how do people expect Dawson to beat Calzaghe?

I'd love to hear an answer to that one. I'm not an advocate of the 'Triangle Theory' but i think that's a legitamete question.

              I'll give you Adamek though.

Point is, he isn't ready to fight someone of Calzaghe's caliber IMO. He ain't ready.

Really? I saw him comparing LACY to DAWSON. Thanks for the college thesis, though.
I'm not saying Joe wouldn't beat Dawson. But no way in hell Zags destroys Dawson the way he did Lacy.

Calzaghe need to fight some good fighters in their prime to prove his "greatness". Picking on forty year old men who still manages to knock him down in the first round is far from enough if he wants to call himself an ATG. He needs to fight Dawson.

I compared the situation not the fighters ability. Big difference.
