I know Johnson punches harder, I just didn't like the look of Dawson in the second half of that fight. I do think it was largley due to Dawson just fighting poorly though. I would pick him to almost shut out Johnson in a rematch.

Bottom line, Dawson and Calzaghe are the two best guys at 175 right now - they should fight.

Johnson beat Dawson. If anything, Johnson is much more deserving of a shot at Joe, although Calzaghe would frustrate the f**k out of Glen and out-point him.

Dawson is good, but probably over-hyped, and to be honest I think it's unfair to Chad (or any fighter who still hasn't proved himself at elite level) to keep building him up until he loses and doesn't meet your expectations, then you take a dump on him and cackle "well he was never that good anyway" and "Calzaghe is over-rated, he beat a bum and deserves no credit".

It's happened time and again throughout the 31+ years I've followed boxing.

LOL at the clowns that voted for Dawson by KO/TKO

Dawson is not a big puncher, he hasn't stopped anybody with a pulse and you morons think he can stop the #1 p4p fighter in the world.

Calzaghe outworks Dawson and wins a UD

People are voting Dawson KO based on hate. It happens all the time on here - it is why most polls on this site are useless.

Tell that to Adamek LOL, who Dawson knocked down and staggered badly in the 11th round. Bell( cruiser weight) couldn't even do that. I don't think Dawson would stop him though, just out box him a win a unanimous decision.

My brain cannot compute why people wouldn't want to see Calzaghe vs Dawson.

Dude, Dawson has had 27 pro fights in his career. This is a good time for Dawson to take on the best out there. We ain't talkin' about a Davey Moore, who only had about 15 pro fights prior to facing a legend/monster like Duran. We ain't talkin' about a Fernando Vargas who only had 20 fights prior to stepping up to Tito.

Dawson's last two fights were against former world champs/crafty/durable veterans, and he passed those tests. It's time for Chad Dawson to unseat this f**kin' pasty limey.

What the hell are you talking about?

                  Dawson never knocked down Adamek

Adamek knocked down Dawson and hurt him bad in the 10th round...Adamek came on strong at the end of that fight and exposed Dawson's suspect chin and stamina.

Technically Dawson did knock Adamek down but it was more of an accidental trip than a punch.

I'm not sure if Adamek hurt Dawson that badly either. It was more of a flash knock down. I thought Dawson kept his legs throughout the entire of the round and then came back to land the cleaner shots in the 12th.

You have to admit, that was a very impressive performance from Dawson against a very tough, undefeated guy.

                      Nooooo. Just no.

You say he "passed the test" against two veterans, but you know for a fact that many of us (and 80% of the audience who watched Dawson-Johnson) disagree with you. Dawson struggled against Johnson. I think that's very fair to say. I also think it's shameful that Glen doesn't get the respect he deserves.

Dawson looked good against Tarver. I admit this, and I posted on here right after the fight about I liked how Chad looked, but you have to wonder how much Tarver really has left in the tank at this point, because he's another one who leaves questions unanswered. Sure, he beat Clinton Woods easily, although Woods was in a terrible state of mind at that point and in my opnion it cost him the fight, but let's be honest -- Clinton was never really a great fighter, as much as I like the guy and I don't like to put down an honest dude like him.

So, realistically, how impressive were Chad's wins? One of them was good, albeit over an old man, and the other one, many people think he lost (also to an old man). Does this mean he's able to compete with fighters like Hopkins or Calzaghe? I don't think so, but if Joe fights him I'll certainly be watching. Dawson may very well prove me wrong, but currently he leaves doubt in my mind.

I have a simple way of matching Calzaghe up with anyone: If his opponent doesn't possess enough power to put him on the deck and keep him there, he won't win. It'd take a heavyweight punch to shake Joe up, and we haven't seen that kind of power from Dawson.
