I dont RJ is shot he will take a better punch than he did pre johnson fight and he doesnt have to worry about Cal power. I think he is fast enough and strong enough to hurt joe and make him slow down. watch for a straight right hand right down the center as Joe rushes in and lights out. I called it Joe gets laid out by a perfect counter shot. Peace

Ski: There are alot of writers that got into boxing because they couldnt get into other main stream sports, but Im not one of them. I have a book collection of over 50 boxing books and over 400 magazines. I follow the sports world, but only watched one NFL game last year, the super bowl and havnt watched one world series game. Im a boxing guy, but more than that Im a boxing historian. I regularly read about boxing history and don't follow the fight game and am not as knowledgeable about the current scene as some of the scribes on this site that could name you the worlds 14th ranked 122 pounder. The only other sport i closely follow besides boxing is college basketball, I love it. As for you if you think Jones will beat Calzaghe, you don't have very good reasoning skills and are one of those blind followers that believe the hype. Give it up, its been over for Jones for 5 years. He's a shell of himself. Its over.

          Easy Work

Joe can't hit, Joe can't defend, Joe can't move, Joe has pillows for hands all these things equal easy work for RJJ. Straight right hand off the hook equals Joe sleeping and waking up to his first loss.

Right. That's why he was beaten up so badly in all his previous fights...Joe can't hit, move, defend, etc.

Nice first post, welcome to the forum, but I'm sorry to see the mean I.Q. drop by such a large number.

writer wrote NO CHANCE, for attention. i dont agree w/ that part, but everything else he says was spot on, IMO.....the iverson analogy was accurate too. when you think about it, jones really hasn't fought ANYBODY since he lost to tarver and johnson. while i wont go so far as to say HE DONE, he is a shell of his former self..........the only thing i don't agree with is the statment that a roy jones in 96 would've demolished a 2001 hopkins.....he didn't thoroughly beat him when they fought years earlier, when hopkins was nowhere near his prime.........

I think , based on the first 24/7 episode, that Jones will be ready to take back over the light heavyweight division now that he has most of his confidence back. Joe would always have trouble with Jones' style. The speed will be a problem and Joe may get rocked early if he is not careful. I would def. be happy if Joe got punked out of there early after seeing what a fricken prick he really is. Also, if Joe does try and box Jones, he will wind up countered all day and lose a decision based on accuracy. The writer should be ashamed of himself for writing this garbage.
the funny thing is, after seeing hopkins time joe perfectly, and knock him down, it wouldn't be a big surprise if either of these fighters got stopped....

looks like you got the point of the article....the fight is a toss up IMO....calzaghe is slicker at this point, but roy is stronger. both can be hurt, so its going to boil down to who wants it more.....don't 4get hopkins will be at ringside, so 1 guy may be winning, then look over at hopkins and say, "i really dont want none of that after this fight," and lose on purpose...LOL

that's why i say its a toss up. joe is a lil younger, probably a lil slicker than jones at this point in his career, but joe is not "dominating" in any fashion. couple that w/ roy's power, the fight could go either way.....like i been saying all along, calzaghe's record is very misleading...he's good, but not THAAAT good, roy jones aint superman nomore. fight's even. i just want the winner to step up and fight hopkins. doesn't look like joe will, so im pulling for roy to KO calzaghe..........
