Pavlik and Calzaghe can't really be compared in this way...Pavlik was far less experienced and the type of fighter Bernard has historically done well against. Like I said, I picked Pavlik simply because I felt Bernard's conditioning was suspect, no other reason, and fully expected HOpkins to win at least the first half of the fight.

Calzaghe is a known quantity, and Roy has never been in the ring with someone like him.

If RJJ were 7 years younger, I'd have roy at probably a -150 favorite, give or take a little, to win by decision. This ain't 7 years ago. Roy may not be "shot", but he's slowed slightly, and gasses easier than he did in his prime. And unlike Hopkins, Roy has always depended mostly on his reflexes, speed, and his amazing talent and ability. Actual boxing skills were always of secondary concern to him. That's why, when he slowed a little (and mind you, it was very little, but just enough), he started getting caught by punches that would've only been near misses just a few years ago. The trip down from heavyweight compounded that problem by screwing his body up (and I dont' think he'll ever recover from that), slowing him yet a little further, and keeping him from being able to reach the level of conditioning he really should be at.

I'm a Roy fan, too, but I'm not going to predict a win based on how I feel about a fighter.
