Wright Sides With Mayweather Jr. Against "Racial" HBO

They have a point, you can't blow that away. Not all black fighters are stylists though and not all Hispanic and White fighters are slugers. With that said i think Wright and Mayweather are right (no pun intended) about the race card, they are always looking for the next white hype, Hispanics are a bit different, they have huge quality and very exciting styles so it's pretty hard to discard them. I hope more people come out talking, i KNOW this will change boxing forever.
New rules, regulations and the belts will be gone, we would have (in my view anyways) a system similar to K1. Did you know earlier today 8 of the very best K1 Max fighters competed in a single tournament, in a single event? And against each other? Did you know they do this EVERY YEAR, multiple times? At the end of each year you KNOW who the best fighter is. There is no 45 year olds hanging around conserving good records so they can make some fighter look good kinda schemes as there are in boxing.

Right on Baya, I couldn't agree more. The Mayweather ship is sinking and Winky needs to start fighting more, and siding with Mayweather less. Mayweather is doing his best Gary Sheffield impersonation. Blasting the people he worked with as soon as he leaves. Its a cowardly act if you ask me. Where was his beef while HBO was making him bazillions of dollars? Its kind of like posting naked pictures of your ex on the internet after she dumps you. Its kinda funny, but suck it up and move on.

I like Gary Sheffield. He says what he wants and doesn't give a **** what people like you think. That's not cowardly to me. What's cowardly is announcers sitting behind a microphone talking **** about fighters when they've never been in the ring themselves. Jim Lampley caught a case himself for beating and stalking a woman. So if you go into the "Mayweather is an *******" routine without talking about the people he criticized that speaks for itself. What's funny is the fact that it's always the people who never boxed that do this. You never see Lennox Lewis, Roy Jones, or any other pro fighter doing when they call a fight. HBO was making money off of Mayweather too so don't act like they were doing this as a kind gesture to help Mayweather.

Honestly, I used to like Winky Wright, and I would still root for him IF he ever fights again, but he needs to shut up. Ticket sales and PPV numbers don't lie. What him and Mayweather aren't seeing is that the guys at HBO are boxing fans like all of us. They want to see slugfests and exitement because it makes you want to keep watching. I saw the Hopkins-Wright fight after I knew what happened and turned it off half way through. It's not a black-white thing, it's a styles thing. Remember Mike Tyson, Winky? Remember Marvin Hagler? Shut up and fight, both of you. I wonder why HBO loves Pavlik and Cotto? They've fought regularly in the last few years and produced great entertainment.

this is bull****. hbo doesnt tell them to slug. hubo is just like the fans> they want what they're promised, how many times has Floyd said its gonna be a toe to toe battle, and then went on his bicycle the whole fight, gainst bums at that. floyd would have gotten alot more credit as lb 4 lb if he would have faught the best to defend his title, not the safe fights in order not to risk it. winky wright never promises a brawl because he knows he can't he has his own boring ass style but it is very effective and hard to beat. it works for him so i'll take a note out of his book "dont try to fix something that aint broke". HBO is not racist at all. they give all the respect to good fighters no matter the race. a good fighter is a good fighter, a bum is a bum_ color plays no part in it... simple as that

I've been nlooking for the numbers on these fights but can't find them. I would bet they aren't close to the last two though. Either way, Im not saying he's a flop, but he had major help getting those numbers with Hatton and Oscar. He's passed up fights at welter because he think these other guys should have a following before they are worthy to fight him. My point (i think) was that if he has such a strong following and can do huge numbers on his own, why didn't he take on a Williams or Clottey at welterweight? He always got an excuse. and now he's throwing around allegations of racism at a company he not only called family, but helped him get rich, because he thinks they should be kissing his ass instead of promoting other fighters. He's a brat.
