  • Excuse me for a sec, I have to find a small spot to run too so I can laugh hysterically at this above post. Probably written by someone who has never experienced a racist event in their lives.

The part that got me is his comment about "too little".....fking hilarious!
I guess youngster doesn't know much about the country he lives in....its a common trait in the American public to be oblivious to history. So there's little to no racism anymore a? I guess these things seem fair and equal to you?

1.)Has there ever been a Black President in the U.S.?
2.)Why are 95% of the major corporations in the country controlled by white males?
3.)Why is it that practically every sports franchise(Football, Basketball, and Baseball) is owned by white men
4.) Why is it that black people always scream racism? Think about that one deeply, if you can.
5.) Why is it that idiotic morons like Don Imus can still sling their racist mud without penalty? Yeah he was fired, but as we all know he's been re-hired by another money-grubbing corporation looking to exploit his popularity.

6.) Why are we still dealing with blatantly racists practices by white prosecutors in our court systems as it relates to black young men(Example...The Jena 6 case)...The entire case drips with racism!!!!

7.) Why are white female newscasters from the Golf Channel ...talking about nooses when referring to Tiger Woods.....I know you all heard about that? This ***** unconsciously showed here true colors.......referring to any other player on the tour would she have used the example of a ****ing "noose" to make her point? Hell no!

I think I've made my point.......racism is still very much alive and well. Its just a different style of racism, if you will. Yes, the day of stringing black people to trees, not allowing them to vote, and raping their women are truly over but the pyschologicval damage done to black people through their terrifying experience in this country is still prevalent today, otherwise Winky and Floyd wouldn't be voicing these concerns.

Those who believe it no longer exists are usually the perpetrators of it.
great post..most of the :wt: on this board that denigrate floyd are subconsciously exhibiting their own inherit racism.. if james toney was 70-0 and talked about himself being one of the best ever then many of the white posters on this board would attack james the same way.

they have a hidden racial agenda to attack and demean any succesful black fighter, and the fact that floyd is undefeated just adds fuel to their fire.

how the hell can floyd go from 130-147 and slug it out with carlos baldomir, or go to 154 and slug it out with oscar de la hoya a natural 154lb fighter (yeah I said it oscar has been fighting at 154 for over 7 years). the announce team displayed total disrespect to not only floyd but to the entire histroy of the sport.

there is a biased, racist double standard in the posts of the usual suspects on this board (they know who they are) towards gifted, skilled african american fighters.

roy, pernell, and now floyd have felt the racism in their careers as they never received the accolades they deserved while they were fighting. it was always a let's bash the p4p champ. now that floyd has reached preeminence in the sport the haters are running towards roy and sweet pea to try and knock floyd down.

in ten years floyd will be considered a top 3 ATG because no fighter will be able to accomplish what he has.

    • Racism exists and will never go away. I truly believe that and that is sad. When you take a prime, center spotlight athlete at the end of his career, retired in fact, to now come out of the box and completely shred men who have stood up for him, defended him, complimented him, etc. etc. , it just speaks about nothing more than personal charactter. The boxing world isn't anymore racist than the rest of this world. The question isn't really "does racism exist in boxing" of course it does, the question is "why does a fighter with the resume and status of Floy Mayweather come out after being retired for a while and say "HBO and it's announcers are racist?" I think, as said many times, this is more a ploy to be the bad guy, promote a documentary or the saddest part of them all, because he really feels this way. Just when boxing was rebounding from it's long drought and while the economy has fallen in love with the sport again, you have this man. This highly successfull black man at the end of a brilliant career, by opening his mouth, trying to end all that has been done in the last 2 years to bring boxing back where it should be. The lack of responsibility he takes in the words he chooses to shout publically makes me sick and I REALLY hope he never returns to the ring. The man is a gifted genious in that ring, but I personally, will never watch him fight again. That was just disgracefull to a sport he has become beloved in and has made him a household name. Just downright sad to try and make everything about race when all his other "cards" where played out. Grow up Floyd, really and truly, grow up man.

Yes it's because he is black. I think Emmanuel Streward & Lennox Lewis mainly hate him because of that same reason.

            • When are people like Floyd Mayweather Jr. going to not look at a white commentator who just said, "I don't know Lennox, Floyd didn't look that good tonight.." and not think it was racially motivated. **** him and everyone who thinks like him. Remove the chip from your shoulder Floyd and those who think like you.

                Lol.

The only HBO guy who slags off on Floyd is Larry Merchant, and he slags off on everyone, because he finds every fight that doesn't include Arturo Gatti to be the most boring fight of all time.

Manny Steward slags off him too. Him and Larry were ripping him apart after Cotto-Gomez. Also Merchant loves Pacquiao too.

Oh, well I think they have a decent point when slagging off on his decision to retire in his prime.

During his fights, Lampley and Steward mostley just commentate, while Larry bitches about "wake me up when something happens."

... Actually, I do remember them all slagging off on him during the Baldomir fight, but it wasn't warrantless... Steward was talking about how ATGs tried to get their opponents out of there if they had them helpless, like Hearns and Leonard, because Lampley brought up that he compared himself favorably to SRR.

How can Floyd have a problem with HBO? His biggest fan, Kellerman, constantly reps his ass as god on every broadcast he is included in.
