Wright Sides With Mayweather Jr. Against "Racial" HBO

What Winky is saying is taht the announcers prefer "in your face sluggers like Pac, Cotto, all Mexican fighers, Pavlik etc"....over back pedalling fighters like Mayweather or "Jab cover jab" Winky Wright.

On Friday, Floyd Mayweather Jr. spoke out for the first time since announcing his retirement from the sport a few weeks ago. He sure had a lot to say, but most of the comments about HBO and their announce team made a lot of noise in the industry. He told David Mayo of the Grand Rapids Press that HBO plays the race card against black fighters. He claims the announcers do the same and worse. [details]

Outside of the boxing fraternity Floyd wasn't a big name at the time. Believe me, calling 12 mil a slave contract, when you are still unknown for the most part, is insulting tp people who have to get up every morning and go to work and are subscibing to HBO to pay that "slave contract".

He didn't like his contract offer. So what? It looks like the decision paid off for him.

It did pay off for him, and thats good. It doesn't mean he didn't come off soundingb like an ingrate.

Oscar made big money against Patrick Carpentierin Texas. He always makes big money. Floyd has needed DLH and Hatton to do big numbers since the Baldomir showing in my opinion. The fans expected a ko with all his tough talk and his ring entrance dressed as a gladiator, and he gave them a dud. That is when I vwas really turned off to Floyd and I suspect a lot of other fans were too. Since then he has only gotten in the ring with not the best at his weight, but proven attractions no matter what. AND both were built up by HBO with the 24/7 series. Maybe he could do big numbers against a guy like Clottey, but I doubt it. I have no doubt that both Hatton and DLHb would though. JMO.

He did good number in only his 2nd PPV fight against Judah who didnt promote the fight.

Judah promoted the Cotto/Judah fight and still didnt make anything near who the Mayweather/judah made.

You're speaking nonsense again, Jab. Hatton never even had a PPV fight before Mayweather. So how are you going to say Mayweather needed Hatton? Did Hatton do big numbers in his last fight? I didn't think so. Nobody questioned Delahoya's ability to sell. He out sells everybody, not just Mayweather. But to suggest Hatton was the only reason Mayweather made big money or that Mayweather needed 24/7 to sell the fight is just hating without facts to back it up and it really sounds ****** to be honest with you. Did Calzaghe need 24/7 to build his fight with Hopkins? If you say no, then you're being a hypocrite.

Exactly and that's my point as well. I'm not hear to defend Mayweather either. But I hate when people use spin because of their personal dislike for a fighter. You can hate Mayweather all you want, I don't care. But when you start lying about his statistics or any other fighters statistics because of personal dislike, I have a problem, with that. Mayweather's numbers have been impressive no matter how they want to spin it.
