Also i don't agree Floyd was in his prime. At 31 he wasn't moving up to 154 wasn't the brightest idea but he HAD to fight Oscar....

That depends on the reason for starting slow. So, with Mayweather, since neither of us is Mayweather, we can only assume. Hence the reason I said it could be a weakness.

i can tell quite a few people in this thread have never seen whitaker fight. i personally think mayweather is better because he posessed the edge in power. speed/defense/movement/intelligence, both of them have it all, but whitaker has the better resume, but he also had alot more great fighters in his prime weightclass to be matched up against then mayweather. however if mayweather stepped it up at welterweight for just 1 or 2 more years, he would surpass him.

No, he did not have a lot of knockouts. but his straight left upstairs packed quite a bit of power. what was weird was that that power sort of showed up as he left his prime, with that brutal KO over Hurtado and he actually hurt Trinidad at a point in their fight...which was surprising to me.

and his body punching ability is very underrated to me. he really dug to the body hard, and Im pretty sure he was able to break Poli Diaz's ribs in their fight.

Floyd will/would lose to anyone with a consistent jab. Oscar, who only used it half the fight was winning on the scorecards (I don't care about your card, because your card doesn't matter) and if he kept using it, Floyd would have a 1 after his wins. Simple as that. That's a flaw. Deny it all you want, but film doens't lie.

I'm not on a high horse, you're generally tolerable, though fanatic at times. This is just delusional, and not worth it.

Losing, arguably, the first four rounds to Zab Judah isn't starting slow? Losing 3 to 4 rounds out of the first 6 with De La Hoya isn't starting slow?

That's the beauty of a jab. It doesn't HAVE to land to be effective. It just makes you reset, throws off your timing when effective and allows you to dictate the pace of the fight.
